Corinthia Hotel London has added a unique shopping experience in Selfridges Oxford Street to its luxurious ‘Shop, Stay & Play in London’ package, with plans of similar partnerships with retail shops in Covent Garden, TTN has learned. The package has received positive feedback from the Middle East, as well as other countries in Asia and North America. What’s more, the package is bookable through agents and concierges and the commission is about 10 per cent.

THE STAY

Corinthia Hotel London recently unveiled 11 new ‘Garden’ and ‘London’ suites, which can be booked as a part of this package. These suites offer guests a wider range of luxurious suites to choose from when staying at the Corinthia flagship property. The new suites are grand in design, using luxurious textiles, wall-coverings, butter-soft leathers and beautiful crafted woods. All furniture has been manufactured in the UK and lighting fixtures are from Wales. A separate living room, over-sized bed, marble bathroom with underfloor heating, built-in TV over the bathtub and a tropical rain shower are just some of the features that travellers can expect.

The London Suite is inspired by a day in the capital; the light, fresh interior pays homage to modern living, with contemporary amenities and state-of-the-art facilities. Art is a key focus and featured artwork and sculptures from the Cubism era grace the 105 sq m dual aspect suite. The space has been designed with privacy in mind, and for guests wishing to entertain, there are doorways to each functional space and the option of two further adjoining bedrooms.

The Garden Suite is designed with a nod to the quintessential British garden and overlooks a beautifully landscaped courtyard. Accents of verdant green, in soft furnishings and live planting, create a tranquil setting. The botanical colour scheme and texture runs throughout the 67 sq m suite encouraging guests to relax as the doors open directly into a living area with a feature fireplace and the main seating area which sweeps around it.

Housed within a Victorian building, Corinthia Hotel London features 283 rooms, including 51 suites and seven penthouses, offering sweeping views across London’s most popular landmarks. Corinthia London provides unrivalled world-class luxury with superb ground floor restaurant and bar offerings. The hotel is also home to the flagship ESPA Life at Corinthia, a spa housed across four floors, with a hair salon by Daniel Galvin. The hotel boasts the largest room sizes in London, original restored Victorian columns, and tall windows.

A memorable experience

TTN’s Kim Thomson had the fortune to stay at Corinthia Hotel London last month.

She says: “You cannot escape a feeling of grandeur the minute you step into Corinthia Hotel London. Everything from the friendly doorman to the hotel’s lobby, leading into its Crystal Moon Lounge where afternoon tea is served, give your arrival a distinct opulence.

“The hotel boasts an excellent location across from Embankment, where you can find access to London’s underground transport, riverboat tours and river taxis. It is at an easy walking distance to Piccadilly, Westminster and Charing Cross. Some of London’s best tourist spots like London Eye, Houses or Parliament, Big Ben and Trafalgar Square are also within walking distance. In fact, I found the location of the property ideal, as it was away from the hustle and bustle of some of the megapolis’ central locations.

“The room I was offered was large and comfortable with a table where you can follow up the day’s business or enjoy in-room dining. The comfortable king-sized bed, separate walk-in closet and a huge bath were a thrill to the senses but what stood out the most for me was the lovely staff, especially the team in North Hall, where I had breakfast each morning.

“They remembered me each morning , brought my usual coffee and always offered the same table. I would recommend Corinthia London the next time you have guests visiting London.”
