Since the 1950s, Swan Hellenic specialises in unique, immersive travel experiences that combine luxury with cultural exploration. As the brand makes a foray into the Middle East market with exciting expeditions on offer, TTN spoke with the Middle East representative of Swan Hellenic, Alina Drutman, Managing Partner of DMW Travel to understand how the brand fits the region.

On what can guests expect throughout a Swan Hellenic journey, Drutman said, “Firstly, Swan Hellenic expeditions cater to those who have explored extensively, experienced much and are now seeking something truly unique. We believe travel is not simply about reaching a destination; it’s about becoming part of it. This philosophy shapes our approach, emphasising immersion and connection with the journey itself. Whether through carefully curated cruises or bespoke expeditions, we are committed to blending exploration with an enriching educational experience. It’s a fresh perspective we’re excited to bring to the market, redefining the way we see and experience travel.”

With the summer bookings underway, we wanted to understand the recommended itineraries. Drutman said, “We have few clients who have already been to Antarctica this season. We have bookings coming for the Arctic now, we see a lot of interest around those exciting destinations. Our expeditions are designed for those who prioritise exploring the world, with cruising serving as a secondary, yet exceptional, mode of transportation. You're travelling to remote destination of the world, but you travel at the comfort of a five-star hotel.”

Operating the youngest and some of the most technologically advanced fleet in the industry, Swan Hellenic boasts a fleet of boutique ships, designed with elegance and intimacy in mind, ensuring every journey feels personal while maintaining the highest standards of comfort and sustainability. With a focus on education through expert-led talks and immersive experiences, Swan Hellenic crafts voyages that are as much about discovery of the self as they are about the world. For those who believe travel should inspire and transform, it is a truly singular offering.

Drutman said, “We're currently developing a special promotion tailored specifically for the Middle East market, focusing on family travel with teenagers. What makes this particularly exciting is the adventure-oriented nature of our expeditions. While we don't have traditional onboard facilities like kids' clubs, the experience is all about shared exploration–kayaking, Zodiac rides, and more. For these activities, we recommend children aged 8 to 17, ensuring they can fully embrace the thrill of discovery alongside their families.”

Regarding the average cost, trips to Antarctica start approximately $10,000 per person for a cabin. That said, frequent special promotions are on offer –time-limited and thoughtfully tailored to make these extraordinary journeys more accessible.

Last year, Swan Hellenic joined the prestigious Virtuoso network, a global collective renowned for representing the finest in luxury travel.
