Ghanem Al Thani Holdings (GATH) has completed its plans to build the Regent Doha Hotel in Doha, Qatar. The construction was completed in January 2015 and was open to the public as of February.
The project consists of the construction of a 365-room hotel of 7 storeys spreading over a land area of 49,000 sq m covering a built-up area of 67,000 sq m including 92 executive rooms, five private bungalows and two presidential suites, all featuring the renowned Westin Heavenly Bed as well as the latest in modern in-room technology. The Heavenly Bath will create an invigorating spa-like experience, enhanced with the brand's Heavenly Shower, Heavenly Robe and exclusive White Tea Aloe bath amenities. Guests will be able to find total relaxation at The Heavenly Spa by Westin, which will offer ten treatment rooms and an array of treatments dedicated to well-being or exercise at The Westin Workout which possess state-of-the-art equipment for optimum cardio and weight training. The hotel will also offer various dining venues, as well as a jazz cocktail and a sports bar, 3 pools, a ballroom, a business center, 10 meeting rooms and recreation areas.
Water is a theme which runs through the hotel. Right from the drive leading from the Salwa Road, guests are flanked by palm trees and water, including a dancing water feature that flows through to a fountain in the reception. It follows guests from the entrance, through the hotel and to the river and wave pool. The concept was to have the feeling of water continuing through the hotel, so it can be seen, felt and heard.
Just 15 minutes from Doha International Airport, The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa will be in close proximity to the Museum of Islamic Art, Education City and the Al Mushreib rejuvenation project in Doha's downtown area.
KEO International Consultants is the design and engineering consultant and Arab Engineering Bureau is the PMC.
