THE Safeer Hotel and Tourism Company (SHTC) says its new budget apartments and luxury villas in Salalah are finding favour with the tourists from all over the Gulf.

The Oasis Residence budget apartments and the Safir Residence luxury villas were both launched at the start of the khareef season to cash in on the hordes of tourists who descend on Oman’s southern coast to escape the searing Gulf summer and take respite in the light monsoon that turns Salalah into a lush green paradise between the months of June and September
“The Oasis Residence has a total of 15 two and three-bedroom apartments with excellent housekeeping and 24-hour reception services,” says D Shekar, general manager Hotel Projects and Operations for Safeer Tourism.
“The Safeer Residence,” he continues, “has a total of eight luxury Spanish-designed villas. Each villa lies on a plot of 400 sq m, surrounded by landscaped gardens and walkways. It also offers facilities such as independent car parking, 24-hour reception and housekeeping services, travel assistance, multi-channel television and private telephone access.”
Both properties have been doing well since their launch, he adds.
Safeer also made its debut in Muscat recently with the launch of a fine four-star business class property. Called the Safir International Hotel, the exclusive property lies at the heart of the city and is designed to cater business executives, tourists and family visitors.
The hotel has 84 well-designed rooms and suites fitted with satellite TV. It also has a coffee shop, 24-hour multi-cuisine fine-dining restaurant, room service, four banquet halls which can cater to between 50 and 400 guests, a pool function area which can cater up to 150 people, and a business centre.
Recreation facilities include a temperature-controlled outdoor swimming pool, health club and a children’s play room.
A member of Oman’s Golden Group of Companies, SHTC is pressing ahead with expansion plans as part of a five-year strategy to become one of the leading operators of hotels, apartments and villas in the Sultanate.
Implicit in this vision is meeting international standards of quality and service throughout all its properties.
“We’re targeting local, regional and international tourists,” says Shekar, “and we will be coming up with tailor-made packages for tourists to discover Oman.”
The ‘Tour Oman’ packages will include accommodation at the new Muscat property and the choice of staying at SHTC’s three properties in Salalah, which in addition to the two new apartments and villas, includes a motel at Ghaba.
