THE five-star Salalah Marriott Resort in the Dhofar region in Southern Oman completed three years of successful operation on March 24, 2013.

The 237-room resort offers its guests a choice of spacious and well-appointed rooms within the main building and 51 beach side chalets. After three years of successful operation, the Salalah Marriott Resort is now a well-established location for leisure and cultural activities of the local community, as well as a preferred meeting and event destination in the Dhofar Region.

Ashraf Eid, said director of sales at Salalah Marriott said, “I was really impressed by the positive feedback I received about the Salalah Marriott Resort from various DMC’s, corporate and guests from across the world. Each one of us in the team strives each day to offer our guests the complete holiday experience compiling to the Marriott standards.

“We offer our guests exceptional facilities in a stunning natural setting where luxury is inspired by nature. We believe in a family style hospitality and welcome each of our guests as we would at our own homes and may be that is one of the reasons why we are also referred as a Family Hotel among many of our guests,” he added.

The Mirbat Beach Project is proposed to feature residential components comprising villas and apartments, as well as a golf course, marina with a capacity to berth 75 boats, private school, hospital, nursery school, mall, water sports facility and other amenities. A total of 534 furnished apartments are envisaged in addition to a 300-room hotel.

In all, 1,600 units of villas and apartments will be constructed over five phases of the project’s development.

“In 2013 and 2014 we will be having major Tourism activities. With the latest developments in the region we would be marketing the destination and not just the Resort. With the new charters that are being introduced and operated by Tour operators from Germany, Italy, Russia etc we will have many tourists visit us during the next few years. Thanks to the support of the Management, team and the owning company, the Salalah Marriott is now a well-positioned resort in the region,” added Eid.

Connectivity to Salalah remains strong as Oman Air offer direct flights from/to Muscat to Salalah and Dubai. Qatar Airways will commence four direct flights a week from May 22, 2013 and flydubai announced their three-weekly direct flights to Salalah from May 21, 2013.
