IHG Hotels & Resorts has surpassed 1,000 open hotels across Europe, following the addition of more than 210 properties over the past three years, representing net system growth of more than 25%.

The hospitality group said it has recorded 36 brand debuts in new European countries since the start of 2024, excluding Ruby hotels, across its Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium, Essentials and Suites categories. Its European development pipeline now exceeds 280 hotels, indicating further expansion opportunities across the region.

The milestone follows a record 2025 and comes as IHG continues to diversify its portfolio. Recent developments include the acquisition of Ruby, a premium urban lifestyle brand, and the launch of Noted Collection, its 21st brand, which has secured seven hotel signings globally.

Karin Sheppard, SVP and Managing Director, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the milestone reflected the strength of its brands, owner confidence and guest loyalty, supported by investment in the company's platform and loyalty programme, IHG One Rewards, which has more than 160 million members.

Europe attracted approximately 793 million international tourist arrivals in 2025, accounting for more than half of the global total, according to UN Tourism.

Recent openings include The Hari London, Vignette Collection, an 85-room luxury hotel in Belgravia; Ruby Lilou in Marseille, marking Ruby's debut in France; and Crowne Plaza Vienna, a 195-room property in the city's Margareten district.

The openings reflect IHG's expansion across different market segments through both new-build developments and conversions. The company said its growing portfolio and pipeline position it for further growth across Europe and the wider Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa (EMEAA) region. -TTN
