Steeped in history, a Zambian lodge returns as the perfect jungle hideout
A legendary Zambian landmark is set to reopen its doors on March 7, next year. Chichele Presidential Lodge, once a private retreat for Zambia’s first president, Kenneth Kaunda, is undergoing a complete transformation to emerge as a stunning and luxurious safari destination.
In partnership with Chiawa Safaris and Fox Browne Creative, the reimagined Chichele Presidential Lodge will offer ten Vista Suites, each providing stunning views of the surrounding wilderness. The design seamlessly blends contemporary aesthetics with the lodge’s rich history, creating a luxurious and sustainable experience. The lodge’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its design and operations. By utilising recycled materials and energy-efficient systems, Chichele Presidential aims to minimise its environmental impact. Guests can embark on guided game drives and walking safaris, led by experienced guides who will unveil the secrets of the South Luangwa National Park, situated along the southernmost tip of Africa’s Great Rift Valley. The lodge also offers a range of activities, including stargazing, birdwatching, and cultural experiences. Chichele Presidential’s culinary team will delight guests with a variety of dining options, from intimate dinners under the stars to casual buffets. The focus is on fresh, local ingredients, many of which are sourced from Eden Organics, a local organic farm. Each Vista Suite at Chichele Presidential offers a private sanctuary with stunning views, a private plunge pool, and a dedicated butler service. The lodge’s communal areas, including the swimming pool, gym, and spa, provide additional opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation. Chichele Presidential is more than just a luxury lodge; it’s a gateway to the heart of Zambia’s wilderness. By combining timeless elegance with sustainable practices, the lodge offers an unforgettable safari experience.
