Known as ‘Visegrad Group’ (V4), a cultural and political alliance between The Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, have joined together to promote tourism to the four Central European sovereign states among the GCC visitors.

The V4 countries form one unique tourist destination boasting numerous unique Unesco monuments, world famous spas, authentically preserved historical towns and places of stunning natural beauty, gastronomy, entertainment. Together, they conducted a four-city roadshow in Dammam, Kuwait, Dubai and Abu Dhabi from November 3 to 6 this year.

The roadshow events were designed for the GCC travel agents to have a better understanding of the cultural and intellectual values and cohesion of V4 countries although different in many aspects, they vividly depict the most common features of the Central European region.

The aim of the roadshows was to educate the trade partners from different regions and discuss the business model for 2019-2020. V4 countries showcased three tourist products - big cities- visiting, shopping, entertainment and luxury products; health including medical tourism, spa and wellness; and leisure holidays including family travel (exploring nature and local experiences) to boost arrivals.

It is because of these unique features that visitors to the V4 region are supposed to find new and intriguing surprises at every step of their journey.

The Visegrad initiative is an expression of the effort to develop the region of Central Europe within the wider framework of Europe – wide integration. All four countries share both historical roots and cultural traditions. At the same time however, each of the member countries has its own unique identity in the field of architecture, art, religion, folklore and traditions or landscape.
