Qatar's largest therapeutic resort opens
Qatar has welcomed its largest therapeutic tourism project yet with the opening of the Vichy Célestins Spa Resort Retaj Salwa. Spanning 211,000-sq-m, the resort houses unique features including a 4000-m man-made lake, waterfalls and more.

The new Vichy Célestins Spa Resort Retaj Salwa in Qatar has officially opened its doors to guests.
Attending the opening ceremony was Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, along with a number of Sheikhs, ministers, ambassadors and senior officials from the Retaj Group.
Hassan Bin Abdullah Ghanem Al Ghanim, owner of the resort, said that the resort is one of the leading projects in the Middle East in terms of the hospitality and medical tourism sector, comprising 168 units divided into 78 rooms and suites and 90 villas, each of which consists of one to three rooms.
The property also features three restaurants, a café and a 350-sq-m medical centre with 45 treatment rooms specialising in weight loss, diabetes prevention, metabolism and Anti-aging treatments.
Other facilities include a meeting room equipped to accommodate up to 1,000 people, a business centre with high-quality equipment, a cosmetics shop, a fitness centre, 19 indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, a green area, and a shop that sells Vichy beauty products.
The resort will be managed by Retaj Hospitality and Hotels Company, which is a homegrown Qatari company, in collaboration with Vichy, a French spa and wellness expert.
Dr Mohammed Bin Johar Al-Mohammad, vice chairman and managing director, Retaj Group, noted that the new resort embodies Retaj’s vision in terms of hospitality and hotels to expand on local, regional and international levels.
