Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain bolsters luxury positioning
Emre Kirazci

Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain has maintained encouraging momentum through the summer, with a particularly strong August and September trading in line with last year. Demand from Saudi Arabia has remained an important contributor, reflecting Bahrain’s accessibility and appeal as a short-break destination for GCC travellers.

Bahrain’s continued destination promotion across Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE has helped sustain leisure interest. For us, the priority is to build on this momentum while further strengthening the resort’s positioning as an ultra-luxury, all-villa retreat, where privacy, personalised service and distinctive experiences come together.

One of our most significant recent milestones has been the opening of Ninive, the acclaimed dining concept from RIKAS Hospitality Group. Set against the resort’s lush landscape and flamingo lagoon, Ninive introduces a vibrant Middle Eastern and North African culinary experience, with indoor dining and a beautiful outdoor terrace. It is an important addition not only for resident guests but also for Bahrain’s dining community.

Ycone Paris by celebrity pastry chef Yazid Ichemrahen is also entering an exciting phase of expansion, with new branches expected to open across Bahrain soon. Known for its signature French pâtisserie, refined savoury creations and afternoon tea experiences, the concept brings an internationally recognised culinary name to the Kingdom and reflects the growing appetite for distinctive luxury dining experiences.

Wellness is another major area of development. We are progressing the introduction of our approximately 10,000-square-metre spa and wellness destination, with a focus on personalised wellbeing, Hammam rituals, hydrotherapy and longevity-inspired experiences. Our ambition is to create a meaningful wellness proposition for both international visitors and the local community. The full range of services will be communicated as the facilities become operational.

We are also developing Raffles Beach, a new coastal experience located approximately seven to ten minutes from the resort. The planned beach club and natural beach setting will complement our private-pool villas and extend the ways guests can enjoy Bahrain, combining the privacy of a villa stay with a dedicated seaside experience.

Looking beyond the GCC, Eastern Europe and Russia remain markets of interest as international travel demand evolves. We are continuing to engage with travel trade partners and position the resort for these audiences, while remaining responsive to market conditions.

Social celebrations and destination weddings, including Indian weddings, also represent an important opportunity. Bahrain’s connectivity and our combination of private accommodation, event spaces and bespoke service make the resort well suited to these occasions.

We see potential to grow this segment through targeted partnerships and international market outreach.

Ultimately, our focus is on long-term growth through product development and experiences that distinguish Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain. With new culinary destinations, an expanding wellness proposition and the addition of Raffles Beach, we are creating more compelling reasons for guests to visit, return and discover a different side of Bahrain.
