Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest independent hotel brand, has expanded its Legend Collection with 11 properties joining the portfolio in 2026.

The additions span Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, bringing the collection to more than 125 hotels and resorts worldwide.

The new properties range from a private island retreat in Venice and a landmark luxury hotel in Bangkok to a forest sanctuary in India and a major resort development in the United Arab Emirates.

Together, they reflect the collection’s focus on personalised service, distinctive design, acclaimed dining, exceptional accommodation and strong connections to their destinations.

“Today’s luxury traveller is not looking for one prescribed idea of the perfect hotel. They are seeking experiences that speak to their individual interests, whether that means reconnecting with nature, engaging with a destination’s cultural heritage, discovering a new culinary perspective, or experiencing an iconic city from a more personal point of view,” said Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. “The latest additions to our Legend Collection reflect this shift while sharing the distinctive character that make each of them a legendary hotel.”

Among the new cultural destinations is Dusit Thani Bangkok, where Thai-inspired design, cultural rituals and longstanding hospitality define the guest experience.

Palais Jamaï Fès, scheduled to open in October 2026, occupies a restored late 19th-century palace overlooking Fès, while Serras Sevilla, which opened in September, offers access to Seville’s architecture, gastronomy and Andalusian culture.

Nature-focused luxury is also represented by The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary in India, which opened in July across 76 acres of ancient Western Ghats forest.

In Nevada, Edgewood Tahoe Resort combines lakeside hospitality with mountain scenery, outdoor experiences and a strong connection to its alpine setting.

The collection’s urban additions include San Clemente Palace Venice, located on its own island in the Venetian Lagoon, and MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites in Lisbon’s Baixa Pombalina district.

The property offers a personalised Golden Sleeves butler service designed around individual guest preferences.

BLESS Hotel Barcelona and BLESS Ibiza The Site add distinctive luxury experiences in Spain, while The Cooper in Charleston brings waterfront views, refined design and a strong connection to the city’s Southern heritage.

The expansion also highlights the growth of destination-defining resorts in the Middle East.

Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah is scheduled to open in spring 2027, featuring a 70-storey tower with more than 1,500 luxury accommodations, over 20 dining venues, a beach club, private marina, gardens and pools.

The 11 new Legend Collection members are BLESS Hotel Barcelona, BLESS Ibiza The Site, Dusit Thani Bangkok, Edgewood Tahoe Resort, MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites, Palais Jamaï Fès, San Clemente Palace Venice, Serras Sevilla, The Cooper, The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary and Wynn Al Marjan Island. -TTN
