Germany’s airberlin has revealed that over 1 million users have installed the airline’s iPhone app on their smartphones and smartwatches.
Airberlin's iPhone app users can log on to the system and manage their bookings with their topbonus frequent flyer profile. The app also lets passengers complete check-in from 30 hours before departure and saves the mobile boarding pass either in the app or in Passbook. Moreover, the airline's iOS app allows passengers to display their boarding passes and flight information on their smartwatch as well. It also provides information on boarding and flight times, as well as the departure gate number and weather data at the destination. Roughly one-third of airberlin passengers use the mobile app to complete the check-in procedure. “We are taking our mobile travel companion to another level. Over recent weeks we have analysed the feedback our users provided to improve the app features and navigation, in particular. As things stand, one in four airberlin passengers use our mobile services in the form of our app or the mobile boarding pass,’ said André Rahn, senior vice president of marketing at airberlin. – TradeArabia News Service
