A delegation from Costa del Sol visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi to present "Costa del Sol – Malaga, The Real Luxury" and reconnect with the travel trade, in recognition of the UAE being one of the region’s most important markets.

The envoy featured key representatives from Costa del Sol’s tourism industry, including from Costa del Sol Tourism Board and Tourspain Abu Dhabi, the VP of the DMCs Association and owner of Tecnica Incentives, and representatives of the luxury Puente Romano and Nobu Hotel in Marbella.

The three-day trip included visits to travel agencies, meetings with media and VIP influencers, and a series of intimate events at the exclusive One & Only Royal Mirage. Ease of travel for UAE citizens and residents was a key topic of conversation, highlighting Spain as a favourable destination for its vaccination rates and the safe environment it offers international travellers.

Etihad Airways direct flight to Malaga launched on July 9, with two weekly frequencies on a 787 Dreamliner. Qatar Airways and Saudia also operate direct flights to the region.

Jose Pueblo, CEO, Tecnica Group, respresting Costa Del Sol tourism, says, “We know Marbella is well known in the UAE. The convention bureau of Costa del Sol wants to also promote Malaga – the capital of the area. The city has changed a lot with great restaurants and hotels. Just like Barcelona, the whole city is open to the sea. Excellent weather and fantastic food are some of the big attractions in Malaga. Muelle Uno is an open-air waterfront promenade with a variety of contemporary shops and is a beautiful cruise tourist attraction in Malaga.”

Built in the style of an Andalusian village, the lifestyle resort was opened in 1979 and has been a fashionable getaway ever since, with all the spacious rooms and suites benefiting from large private balconies, flanked by more than 70,000 sqm of gardens.

“We all know that Nobu is a popular and a trendy brand. Three years ago, Nobu hotel has been opened and both the properties complement each other, Puente Romano with a classic Mediterranean décor, Nobu is directed a younger audience. La Plaza in the centre of the property has several restaurants around it and is a very popular attraction.
