Emirates Dreamliner order 'may be finalised'
Dubai-based Emirates is getting closer to announcing a big order for Boeing's Dreamliners, said a report.
Emirates is believed to be in the market for between 50 and 100 mid-sized wide-body planes to fly medium- to long-range routes and will most likely be a mix of 787-9 and 787-10 models, said a report in Aerotime.
The Gulf carrier was deciding between the Airbus A350 and the 787 Dreamliner to replace its aging wide-body fleet, a report by Aviation International News said.
However, Saj Ahmad - a consultant at Strategic Aero Research - believes "the 787 will be Emirates' smaller wide-body airplane choice."
Emirates and Boeing have not yet commented on the rumor.
News of the big order is expected to be announced at the Dubai Airshow in November.
