Millennium makes waves in Mussanah

THE Millennium Resort in Mussanah, located on the Gulf of Oman is an idyllic location for families looking to escape this summer. With its pristine beaches and an array of water sports facilities onsite, it is a natural appeal for active visitors to Mussanah.

Part of the Millennium & Copthorne group, the Millennium Resort in Mussanah is the company’s first hotel in Oman and ninth in the region. The resort offers 234 guestrooms and 74 fully-furnished apartments, from studios to two-bed duplexes, fitted with high speed internet access, IPTV, media hubs, state-of-the-art meeting and conference facilities and a selection of five restaurants.

Will J. Blake, director of sales & marketing at the resort says, “Mussanah is a new growth corridor in Oman and as the only resort there, we want to take advantage of the prime position. Our first year of operations was challenging because of the limited facilities at the resort but this has changed with the opening of four new swimming pools; the first ladies’ pool in Oman and two infinity pools, kids’ splash pool and the main swimming pool.”

In a bid to further boost its leisure activities, the resort will open a diving centre in October 2012.

“We expect to drive in more leisure guests and plan to position ourselves as a four-star deluxe, family destination resort. We want to offer our guests an affordable product and with our apartments, we are ideal for families looking for a long weekend from across the region.

“The Millennium Resort Mussanah is just the place to go and do nothing,” added Blake.

Looking ahead, the summer months are already looking strong for the resort. The resort with its location and proximity to the Mussanah Sports City, which hosted the 2nd Asian Beach Games, has already seen much interest from sports teams. With plans to build a water park in the future, Blake is confident that it will boost demand for the hotel as well.
