A HERTZ initiative new to the Middle East and Africa was showcased at the Business Travel Show in Dubai by the world’s largest general-use car rental brand.

Targeting the business travel trade, the Hertz Business Plus programme is especially suited to small to medium enterprises (SMEs) offering a fully-inclusive, one payment-on-arrival car rental service for business travellers anywhere in the world.

Adding up to much smoother rentals globally for SMEs and their staff, it includes collision damage waiver, theft protection, super cover, additional driver, vehicle licence fee and location service charge, all in the same package.

The programme also offers a rate of 15 per cent commission to agents and is sold through the trade global distribution service (GDS).

Successfully launched in Europe at the beginning of the year, Hertz Business Plus has initially been launched in the UAE, with plans to bring other Middle East and African countries on board over the next few months.

Gina Costa, commercial director, Hertz Middle East and Africa said: “We believe that the Hertz Business Plus programme is unique in the region in that the fully-inclusive package is built specifically for the corporate traveller.

“It is designed to benefit businesses that are not large enough to warrant a large global contract with Hertz but still require a corporate package.  Businesses sign up for the package through a local travel agent which gives them convenience, peace of mind and takes the stress out of booking a hire car for business trips abroad.”

The Business Plus programme was introduced by Hertz to corporate travel buyers and bookers at the show which took place at the Madinat Jumeirah Arena in Dubai.

And Costa was joined by colleagues Neil Munro, sales and marketing manager for Hertz UAE, and Gordon Atkinson, general manager for Hertz Saudi Arabia, in addressing travel industry professionals in one of the Business Travel Show seminars.

‘Thinking Global, Acting Local’ outlines the Hertz International presence in the region, which currently spans 11 franchisees and 66 outlets in the Middle East and 23 franchisees and 161 outlets in Africa.
