Niva Kuramathi Maldives has announced the return of Campioni Soccer Academy for 2027, offering young football enthusiasts aged four to 16 the opportunity to train with former Premier League stars and UEFA-licensed coaches during two special football camps scheduled for the Spring and Summer seasons.
The week-long programmes will welcome boys and girls of all
abilities, combining professional football coaching with a family holiday
experience at the Maldivian resort, set against the backdrop of the Indian
Ocean.
The first academy week will take place from 29 March to 3
April 2027, led by former Manchester United striker Andy Cole and UEFA 'A'
Licensed coach Adrian Whitbread. The second programme, scheduled for 26 to 31
July 2027, will be led by former England captain Stuart Pearce MBE, alongside
Whitbread.
The initiative will transform Niva Kuramathi's football
pitch into a training facility where young participants can benefit from daily
two-hour sessions with former professional players and experienced coaches.
Cole is widely recognised for his successful career at
Manchester United, where he won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the
UEFA Champions League as part of the club's historic 1999 treble-winning team.
Known for his finishing ability, professionalism and winning
mentality, Cole will share his experience with young players, offering insights
into the skills, discipline and commitment required to compete at the highest
level.
Pearce, one of England's best-known football figures, brings
decades of playing and leadership experience, including his time as captain of
the national team. His coaching sessions will focus on developing teamwork,
discipline and confidence among aspiring footballers.
The academy will begin with an oceanfront welcome reception,
where participating families can meet the coaches, collect bespoke training
kits and prepare for the week ahead.
From Monday to Saturday, children will participate in daily
interactive training sessions focusing on technical development, game awareness
and overall football skills. The programme will follow the Football
Association's 4 Corner Model, incorporating technical, physical, psychological
and social development, alongside teamwork, strategy and sportsmanship.
Parents will be able to relax and enjoy the resort's
facilities while their children participate in supervised activities, or watch
the training sessions from the sidelines.
A highlight of the programme will be the Parents' Game, an
interactive midweek event where children can cheer on their parents as they
take to the pitch.
Both football legends have expressed enthusiasm about
returning to the Maldives to participate in the programme and work with young
players and their families.
“I can’t wait to return to Niva Kuramathi for the Campioni
Soccer Academy in Summer 2027. Last year’s academy was such a memorable
experience, and I’m excited to meet another group of families and young
players. What makes Campioni so special is seeing the confidence and potential
that comes through in every session. It’s about more than football, it’s about
encouraging young people to believe in themselves, aim high and enjoy the
journey along the way.” Stuart Pearce MBE
“Campioni Soccer Academy is always an incredible experience,
and I’m really looking forward to joining the team at Niva Kuramathi next
Spring. It’s always rewarding to see families come together and watch kids
learn, grow and have fun through football, while also enjoying everything a
destination like the Maldives has to offer. I’m sure this will be a truly
memorable academy, and I can’t wait to see the young players embrace the
experience, make new friends and create memories that will stay with them long after
they leave the island.” Andy Cole
The 2027 programme will also build on Campioni's previous
engagement with local Maldivian football communities. In 2025, young players
from the Thoddoo and Rasdhoo football academies participated in a special
training session with former England international John Barnes MBE and Adrian
Whitbread.
Niva Kuramathi and Campioni plan to continue extending
professional football coaching and educational opportunities to young Maldivian
players through the initiative.
Beyond its football programme, the academy aims to provide
families with a combined sporting and leisure experience, allowing children to
develop their abilities, build confidence and form friendships while enjoying a
holiday in the Maldives.
Through the return of Campioni Soccer Academy, Niva Kuramathi is positioning the resort as a destination for family-focused sporting experiences, bringing together professional football coaching, youth development and island hospitality. -TradeArabia News Service
