Etihad Airways connects Warsaw and Prague

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, is continuing its global expansion with the launch of two new routes – Warsaw in Poland and Prague in Czechia.

Starting from June 2, 2025, Etihad will launch four weekly flights to both Warsaw and Prague, providing business and leisure travellers with convenient access to these vibrant European capitals.

These routes will be operated by Etihad’s modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner, ensuring the highest level of comfort with 28 Business Class and 262 Economy Class seats available on every flight.

Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said: “We are proud to introduce Warsaw and Prague as our newest destinations, reflecting our commitment to expanding into new and exciting markets.”

 

Wizz Air announces first long- haul route

Wizz Air, the ultra-low-fare airline, launches its brand-new Airbus A321XLR (Extra Long Range) aircraft, to Milan, unlocking a new era of ultra-low-fare travel on long haul routes. This new aircraft enables Wizz Air to revolutionise intercontinental travel and offer unbeatable fares starting from Dh429 onwards. Starting June 2, 2025, Wizz Air will commence daily direct flights between Milan and Abu Dhabi.

Nathalie Jongma, Vice President of Aviation Development at Abu Dhabi Airports said: “We welcome Wizz Air’s announcement and the expansion of its network to Zayed International Airport. The deployment of the Airbus A321XLR on this route is noteworthy, as it allows for longer direct flights on narrow-body aircraft and underscores our commitment to providing travellers with a diverse range of destinations and a seamless travel experience.”

 

Oman Air, Ministry offer free stopovers

As part of their shared commitment to promote Oman as a preferred tourist destination, Oman Air and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism have joined forces for a special stopover promotion for passengers transiting through Muscat.

Available until November 30, the offer provides a free one-night hotel stay for premium class passengers when booking a stopover in Muscat, while those travelling in Economy Class can enjoy two nights for the price of one.

Congress unites next gen air mobility

The fifth annual AIRTAXI World Congress (ATWC) will open in Dubai, UAE, from October 7- 10 at the Grand Hyatt Dubai Conference & Exhibition Centre. Introducing OEMs of clean-tech aircraft, and start-up operators planning to fly them, to prospective buyers, investors and regulators, this event will celebrate the redefining of commercial air transport.

The Congress includes an event ‘within an event’ on October 10 – a Showcase, where it will host a selection of eVTOLs, STOLs, Drones, and Next Gen aircraft at The Air Chateau Dubai Helipark.

ATWC will include several fireside chats with Next Gen OEMs, complemented by workshops focusing on the critical role of regulators; airlines and airports planning future route network strategies together; plus, the needs / and future role of handling agents and infrastructure specialists.

 

Virgin Atlantic to start London - Riyadh flights

Virgin Atlantic will operate daily flights between London Heathrow Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh starting March next year.

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb recently oversaw the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Kingdom’s Air Connectivity Program (ACP) and Virgin Atlantic Airlines at the Ministry of Tourism’s headquarters.

Virgin Atlantic’s entry into the Saudi market marks the 10th airline collaboration with the ACP since the start of the year, underscoring ongoing efforts to boost air connectivity in the Kingdom.

The Air Connectivity Program is a key component of Saudi Arabia’s National Tourism Strategy and National Aviation Strategy. It aims to drive tourism growth by developing and expanding air routes between Saudi Arabia and international destinations.
