Imex Frankfurt … endless opportunities

The global business events community will come together for one fabulous week at IMEX Frankfurt in mid-May.

It is a week when industry players can unlock their potential, fire up their imagination and explore the impact with stellar speakers and stand-out professional development, said IMEX organisers.

The event, from May 14 to 16 at Messe Frankfurt, offers endless opportunities for conversation and connection as 2,500-plus exhibitors showcase their products and services.

With a global range of exhibitors, learning sessions that dig into today’s most pertinent issues and opportunities to build new connections, IMEX Frankfurt 2024 is set to be a show with impact.

“In planning IMEX Frankfurt, we’ve been more intentional too. We’ve taken a close look at our attendees, what they want, and why they want it,” explains IMEX CEO, Carina Bauer. “Doing business will sit front and centre of the show, along with opportunities for event professionals to broaden their global connections. A visit to IMEX Frankfurt will be an efficient and enjoyable experience from start to finish, and one that enables planners to supercharge their desired results.”

A strong roster of suppliers representing destinations, venues, hotels and technology is already confirmed for the show.

Beverly Hills, China, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Ho Chi Minh City, Indonesia, Istanbul, Italy, Japan, Rwanda, Savannah and Senegal are just some of the exhibiting destinations to explore. Accor, Four Seasons, Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Radisson and Wyndham headline the hotel brand bill.

The area of the show floor devoted to technology is set to see a flurry of activity with Cvent, ExpoPlatform, InEvent and Kaltura among those blazing the event tech trail. Alongside the global destinations, all the major hotel groups will be present including Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, Radisson and – new to the show - Langham.

Joining a specialist education roster that includes Association Focus, Exclusively Corporate, ELX Forum, the MICE Impact Academy and She Means Business, are the show’s new-for-2024 Agency Experience and Rising Talent programmes.

Led by the Impact Talking Point, the education programme aims participants to unlock AI’s potential, manage events on a tight budget, keep burnout at bay. It also covers insights on leadership, inclusive event design, organisational culture and more.

“Impact is the opportunity to make a difference in what’s often a complicated world. The ripple effect of impact can be far-reaching, with results seen immediately or the seeds sown for the future.” Tahira Endean, IMEX’s Head of Programming outlines why event professionals should embed impact into their professional and personal lives.

The programme of professional and personal development is a comprehensive range of more than 150 learning sessions reflecting the way people now live and work. Attendees can ‘pick and mix’ across seven tracks to suit their skill requirements including a new track, Impact. Tangible, practical takeaways are front and center to encourage attendees to immediately apply what they’ve learned in their business meetings the same day.

Adapting to change is a top priority for association planners today – whether it’s shifting member needs and demographics, or balancing budgets, policies and partnerships. It’s a topic that runs throughout Association Focus, sponsored by Amsterdam Convention Bureau - a dedicated day of education for association professionals.

Taking place on Monday May 13, the day before IMEX Frankfurt, the collaborative programme, delivered in association with ICCA, AC Forum and ASAE, offers insights and recommendations as well as the opportunity to debate and exchange ideas.

For corporate event organisers and meeting planners tasked with delivering top-notch events for clients, prospects and employees, there are several trends set to impact how future events are designed, measured and funded.

Exclusively Corporate, taking place on Monday, May 13 at IMEX Frankfurt, meets these trends head-on in a series of learning and networking sessions specifically designed for in-house planners.

Beating burnout, designing impactful events and resource constraints are all covered during the day long programme, held at Melia Frankfurt City.

With networking and recharge moments blended into the program, Exclusively Corporate is designed to give corporate planners the-often rare–opportunity to meet their counterparts from other sectors and make connections with people who could be their next advisor, coach or speaker.

Rounding out a rewarding IMEX experience are opportunities for Be Well Lounge respite and relaxation, Nook Pod, Tiny House and Workspace privacy and productivity, IMEXrun exuberance and endorphin-fuelled exercise, Gala Dinner fun, friendship and festivity, and Wellbeing Challenge motivation and (healthy) competition.
