This is a year of 70 plus hotel openings across the Sultanate of Oman. Here are a couple of other noteworthy openings (brand debuts) from earlier this year.

CITADINES AL GHUBRAH MUSCAT
The Ascott Limited (Ascott), CapitaLand Investment’s wholly owned subsidiary, continues its tenacious Middle East and African expansion plans, building on its recent growth spree. Oman welcomed its first Citadines property with the launch of the stylish Citadines Al Ghubrah Muscat in the country’s capital.

The 96-key Citadines Al Ghubrah Muscat offers guests and visitors a home-away-from-home experience in the heart of Muscat, conveniently situated steps away from Sultan Qaboos Road, Muscat’s arterial link to the city’s International Airport. The new property is located within business and leisure districts including exhibition centres, the largest shopping malls, embassies, tourist attractions, beaches and national parks.

AVANI MUSCAT HOTEL
Another brand debut in Oman this year, Avani Hotels & Resorts opened Avani Muscat Hotel, located in Seeb, a prime residential area at the heart of Muscat’s westward growth.

Blending heritage-inspired touches and sleek contemporary style, the property’s 161 guest rooms are a masterclass in subtle design. On the residential side, 45 studios and one, two- and three-bedroom serviced apartments are perfectly suited for long-stay guests and families with children who can take full advantage of AvaniKids, the hotel’s kids’ club and pool.

Avani Muscat is adjacent to the Al Araimi Boulevard Mall and is just a five-minute drive from the Mall of Muscat, home to a spectacular 8,000 square metre aquarium and countless shopping, dining and entertainment options. Guests can also explore Seeb’s famous traditional souq, a sprawling blend of markets offering everything from spices to gold to Omani embroidery.
