A consortium of BeMo Tunnelling, Hochtief and Subterra has won a €1.2 billion ($1.4 billion) contract to build a segment of Prague’s D metro line. The 6km stretch will include three new underground stations and multiple tunnel sections in the Czech capital.
Working on behalf of the Prague Public Transport Company, the contract will generate €428 million for Hochtief, reported GCR.Construction is due to begin shortly and be completed in 2032, it stated.Juan Santamaría, Hochtief’s chief executive, said: “Metro Line D will be critical to Prague’s future mobility, and we are proud to continue our role in delivering the city’s first fully automated metro line.”A team featuring Hochtief and Subterra had previously won a contract for the first section of metro D between Pankrác and Olbrachtova stations. This phase is due to be completed in 2029.
