In 1995, award-winning luxury resort Soneva Fushi set the standard for all desert island barefoot luxury hideaways in the Maldives. It has a pristine Biosphere UNESCO protected reef and is known for its legendary service. Soneva Kiri is Soneva’s Thai-based award-winning property and is located on Koh Kood - just one hour by private plane south-east of Bangkok. Soneva is perfect for both couples and families, with some villas offering waterslides into the pool, and a special children’s room attached to the master bedroom at Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani. Our Private Residences are designed for larger families and groups, offering an intimate yet spacious setting in villas up to nine bedrooms.
CHILDREN’S DEN
Soneva Fushi:
Soneva Fushi is a destination that appeals to all ages. The Den has been conceptualised and designed as an imaginative playground for children with many inspiring and fun activities.
The Den features two swimming pools, a pirate ship, a cinema room, a Lego room, a music room with a variety of instruments, and a teenage lounge. Children and the young at heart can slide into the pool from a twisting, red waterslide. Children can skip on musical piano keys built into the floor to create their own musical melodies.
Visit the Maldives’ only Glass Studio, where our resident artists as well as renowned visiting artists create functional pieces as well as beautiful artwork out of 100% recycled glass. Older children and adults can learn the fundamentals of glass blowing and take home a little piece of recycled art.
Soneva Kiri:
A giant moulded bamboo playground shaped like a manta ray and hanging high in the treetops, Soneva Kiri’s children’s Den is dedicated to learning, to excitement, and to meaningful experiences. Professional child minders teach the younger Soneva guests how to play Thai instruments, and unleash their creative talents with painting, music, and the visual arts. A special programme is also offered specifically for children aged from one to five years old at Soneva’s ‘Eco Den’.
Soneva Jani
The Den at Soneva Jani is a colourful space at The Gathering, with a plethora of fun activities. Children can challenge their creativity with buckets of Lego and Duplo bricks, get lost in the world of books and stories, or interact in activities around the island such as tree planting, learning about the ocean with the marine biologist, and creating masterpieces from recycled materials.
Villas at Soneva Jani offer an unobstructed view of the lagoon, with some villas offering a slide straight into the water below for the young and young at heart, and a retractable roof above the master bedroom, perfect for family stargazing.
