BermudAir has become the second airline worldwide to operate Embraer’s E190F E-Freighter, taking delivery of one aircraft leased from Regional One and marking the first deployment of the freighter in the Americas.
The move expands BermudAir’s operations beyond passenger
services as the airline looks to serve the growing demand for express cargo
across Bermuda, the Caribbean, the United States and Canada.
BermudAir currently serves 10 destinations with a fleet
comprising two E175s and two E190s. The addition of the E190F will support the
transport of express cargo, e-commerce shipments and time-sensitive freight
while building on the airline’s existing network.

Regional One has placed five firm orders for the E190F since
the programme launched, with two converted aircraft already delivered and in
service.

The E190F is based on Embraer’s E-Jets platform and is
designed for the express freight market, offering more than 100 cubic metres of
cargo volume and up to 13.5 tonnes of payload.

Embraer says the E190F offers lower operating costs than
traditional narrowbody freighters while providing increased volume capacity and
