Hong Kong celebrates Chinese New Year

Hong Kong will welcome the Year of the Horse with citywide celebrations led by the Cathay International Chinese New Year Night Parade on February 17, 2026 (8pm) in Tsim Sha Tsui, starting from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and passing Canton Road, Haiphong Road and Nathan Road. 

Under the theme “BEST FORTUNE. WORLD PARTY.”, the parade features dazzling floats and international performances, including acts from the Chinese Mainland, Canada and Australia. 

Floats will also mark milestones such as Cathay’s 80th anniversary, Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th, and McDonald’s Hong Kong’s 50th. Parade floats will be displayed at Kai Tak Sports Park (February 18 - 27). 

Other highlights include Lunar New Year Fairs (February 11- 17), Year of the Horse Raceday at Sha Tin (February 19), and the Lam Tsuen Well-Wishing Festival (February 17 – March 3).
