The World Surf League (WSL) Longboard Tour returned to Abu Dhabi for its second edition of the Surf Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic, delivering an action-packed weekend that combined elite competition with live music and a vibrant festival atmosphere.
Held from October 24 to 26, 2025, the event once again welcomed the world’s top male and female longboard surfers. Reigning champions Steven Sawyer of South Africa and Alison Lemoigne of France returned to defend their titles against a star-studded field, including five-time and current world champion Taylor Jensen. Over three days, athletes battled for crucial points in the race for the 2025 WSL Longboard World Title.
Adding to the excitement, Donavon Frankenreiter, one of the surf world’s most beloved musicians, closed the weekend with a high-energy live concert that perfectly captured the laid-back, soulful spirit of surf culture.
The Surf Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic served as the third stop of the 2025 WSL Longboard Tour Championship Series, following events in Huntington Beach, California, and Bells Beach, Australia, before the season finale in Surf City, El Salvador.
Spectators enjoyed hours of world-class surfing each day, enhanced by rooftop viewing decks offering panoramic skyline views. The festival also featured live music, interactive activations, and a bustling food village serving local and international flavours.
For guests seeking an upgraded experience, a hospitality package at NALU Restaurant provided exclusive access to its pool and lounge, creating a relaxed, family-friendly setting to enjoy the event.
