Restored palace opens in Rabat
The glamorously restored Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr opened last month, featuring a majestic 18th century royal residence, creating a true oceanfront oasis in the heart of Morocco’s City of Lights.
The launch of Four Seasons is the start of a new chapter for the historic Kasr Al Bahr – the Palace by the Sea – a magnificent complex of buildings on Rabat’s Atlantic coastline. Built in the 18th century as the summer palace of Morocco’s Sultan Moulay Slimane, the property was later turned into a military hospital. Now the landmark is evolving again as a Four Seasons hotel.
The five-hectare (twelve-acre) oceanfront site features eleven buildings in total – five brand new and six historical – balancing authentic historical detail with chic modern design.
Moxy to open in Downtown Cairo in 2029
Marriott International Inc. and Reliance Ventures S.A.E, Reliance Egypt’s hospitality investment arm, signed an agreement to open a Moxy Hotel in Downtown Cairo. Expected to open in 2029, Moxy Cairo Downtown will bring the brand’s playful hospitality, stylish design and buzzing social spaces to the heart of the city’s vibrant downtown district.
Moxy Cairo Downtown will be part of an adaptive reuse project of the Lazoghly complex of buildings, which were formerly the offices for the country’s Ministry of Interior. The stylish and smart rooms will be geared towards today’s young-at-heart travellers.
Situated in Downtown Cairo, this unique location makes the hotel in close proximity to iconic landmarks such as Tahrir Square, the Egyptian Museum and the Cairo Opera House, as well as a short distance away from the Nile River.
Accor signs new Novotel on Egypt’s North Coast
Accor announces the signing of a partnership agreement with Egypt’s Q Real Estate Development Company to develop a new Novotel property – Novotel Sidi Abd El Rahman.
Debuting on Egypt’s idyllic northern Mediterranean coast, an increasingly popular tourist destination, the hotel is set to open in 2027, featuring 240 spacious and modern rooms as well as a host of thoughtful wellbeing and entertainment offerings.
The hotel is accessible by a one-hour 30-minute drive from Alexandria Borg el Arab International Airport and a three-hour drive from Cairo.

The Tribute Portfolio debuts in Egypt
SODIC and Marriott International, Inc. recently announced a signed agreement to bring the Tribute Portfolio brand to two of the leading developer’s hotels in Egypt. Slated to open in 2027, the Tribute Portfolio Hotel at Forty West – SODIC’s signature residential building complex in West Cairo – will comprise of 170 guestrooms, including 48 suites. Ideally situated in the heart of the flagship mixed-use development, SODIC West, the hotel will be easily accessible from the newly opened Sphinx Airport.
Anticipated to open in 2029, the second Tribute Portfolio Hotel will be located in June, SODIC’s Miami inspired beachfront destination within the up-and-coming Ras al Hekma area on the North Coast.
