Rezidor promotes Sezgin
The Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Yigit Sezgin as global director of sales and marketing.
Sezgin takes on the new responsibility in addition to his current role as regional director of sales and marketing for Rezidor Middle East, Egypt and Libya.

Jumeirah appoints new GMs
Jumeirah, has announced the appointment of two new general managers. Doris Greif (pictured) returns to Jumeirah Group as general manager of Jumeirah Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi, opening in 2011, and Jumeirah Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa welcomes Andy Cuthbert as general manager.

The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai has appointed Els Ramadhinta as director of public relations. Ramadhinta moved to Dubai from her hometown in Jakarta, Indonesia where she led the PR team for both The Ritz-Carlton, Jakarta and The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place.

Accor Hospitality ME has announced the appointment of Laurent Chaudet (pictured) as general manager for Pullman Dubai Mall of the Emirates. Chaudet has managed several Accor properties across Asia. Herman Klok also joins Pullman Dubai Mall of the Emirates as operations manager.

Marriott International, Middle East and Africa, has just announced the appointment of Mamoun Malhas as general manager for the Petra Marriott Hotel.
Malhas was previously general manager of the Crowne Plaza Resort in Petra -Jordan.

Delta appoints VP, EMEA
Delta Air Lines has promoted Perry Cantarutti to the new position of senior vice president – Europe, Middle East and Africa. Cantarutti will account for Delta’s Europe, Middle East and Africa commercial activities. He was previously vice president of reservations, sales and services for Northwest.

Bristol Amman Hotel has announced Osama Muwalla as the new general manger. In this role Muwalla will oversee operations at the 170-room hotel located in Amman. He brings with him more than 19 years of experience in the hotel industry.

Ryan Advincula has been appointed by The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa, Bahrain as marketing and communications manager. Advincula has more than 10 years’ experience and was previously PR manager at the InterContinental Regency, Bahrain.

The Al Bustan Rotana Dubai has announced Abbas Moubarak as director of protocol. Moubarak, who joined Al Bustan Rotana in 1997, has 30 years of hospitality experience. His responsibilities will include overseeing hotel standards in terms of accommodating guests and securing their needs.

Ziad El Khoury has been appointed general manager at the Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport. El Khoury brings with him 11 years of experience in hospitality having previously worked at the JW Marriott Kuwait City, JW Marriott Dubai, Courtyard by Marriott and MEA Green Community in Dubai.

Oman Air country manager
Oman Air has appointed Maitha Al Mahrouqi (pictured) as country manager for Oman. Maitha has previously worked with Emirates and Gulf Air. The airline has also appointed Chris Phipps as regional manager – Asia Pacific. He was previously regional manager for Qatar Airways in Libya.

Chef Lang appointed at Mövenpick
Moevenpick Hotel Bahrain has announced Holger Lang as the new executive chef. Prior to this, he was executive chef at Kempinski High Tatras, a lake-side luxury resort in Pleso, Slovakia. He has previously worked in Germany, Portugal and Switzerland as well as at Sheraton Jeddah Hotel and Villas.

Etihad Airways has announced the appointment of Ali Abdulla Al Shamsi as assistant head of hub at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Al Shamsi joins Etihad from Emirates Airlines where he held the position of regional manager of commercial operations for Emirates Holidays.

John Rogers has joined Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara as general manager. Rogers has previously worked with the Shangri-La in Hong Kong, Vancouver and Shanghai, Le Royal Meridien in Bahrain and the Lanka Oberoi in Colombo, in a variety of senior food and beverage positions.

Amr Adel has joined the Towers Rotana Dubai as executive assistant manager.
He was previously executive assistant manager at Fujairah Rotana Resort and broke sales records when he held the position of director of revenue.

Emaar Hospitality Group has promoted Amit Arora to vice president of sales and marketing. Since joining the company he spearheaded the creation and launch of The Address Hotels & Resorts. Arora has also been instrumental in the development of a central reservations office for the brand.

The Golden Tulip Al Barsha has appointed Kamal Mhmoud (pictured) as manager of Fresh, its new restaurant. Mhmoud previously worked for Metropolitan Hotels. The hotel has also appointed David Hall as the new bar manager of Locker Room. Hall moves from the Double Decker in Rotana.

Sales team increased
Four Points by Sheraton Downtown and Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai have welcomed Tamer Saleh and Anna Villanueva (pictured) as deputy directors of sales for Four Points by Sheraton Complex. Saleh moves from Rotana in Saudi Arabia while Villanueva has been with the company since 2007.

Chase International, the online travel wholesaler, has appointed Averil Clarke as regional manager for GCC and North Africa. She recently moved to Dubai from Ireland to take on her new role as a sign of Chase International’s commitment to the region.
