Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) Chairperson Fatima Al Sairafi participated in the 26th World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit, held in Valletta, Malta, from October 7 to 9, 2026.

The summit brought together ministers, global CEOs, industry leaders and experts to discuss the key trends and challenges shaping the future of travel and tourism.

Al Sairafi joined ministers and global business leaders during the "Global Leaders Dialogue" session, which examined shifts affecting competitiveness across the travel and tourism sector.

Bahrain’s participation followed an official invitation from the WTTC in cooperation with the Malta Tourism Authority.

The Kingdom’s presence provided an opportunity to exchange expertise and perspectives on the future of tourism while exploring emerging international trends and practices.

Held under the theme "Future (RE)set: Shaping the Future of Travel & Tourism", the summit examined major transformations affecting the global sector and opportunities for future growth and investment.

Key topics included seamless travel experiences, the growing role of artificial intelligence, sustainability, innovation and technology’s impact on the tourism ecosystem.
