Sharjah unveils 51,200-sq-m Al Freish Lake development plan in Kalba

Sharjah has unveiled major plans for Kalba region with the development of Al Freish Lake, covering 51,200 sq m behind Al Marsh Square. The project will feature a large water body with 28 million gallons capacity alongside 200 parking spaces, greenery, waterfalls and walking areas, designed to make the site a family-friendly place to visit. 

Extending approximately 750m, the development will feature trees, waterfalls flowing towards the sea and spaces for walking and enjoying the surrounding natural landscape.

The project has been approved by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, reported Wam.

"We are working to complete Al Freish Lake project behind Al Marsh Square, which is approximately 750 metres long. It will be a pleasant park for children, similar to Al Rafisah Dam project," stated Sheikh Dr Sultan, while speaking on the project. 

"Trees are currently being planted on the mountain in this area, and there are also waterfalls among the trees that flow into the sea. People will be able to park their cars, walk and enjoy a stroll in this area and make the most of it," he added.
