Checkout.com has announced a partnership with digital travel platform Agoda to enhance global payment performance and support seamless travel bookings worldwide.

Agoda, which connects travellers to more than six million hotels and holiday properties as well as flights and activities, relies on high-performing payment systems to manage transactions across multiple markets, currencies and peak demand periods.

Through the partnership, Agoda has strengthened its virtual card issuing capabilities, enabling smoother customer bookings and ensuring timely payments to travel suppliers.

The collaboration aims to reduce payment disruptions and improve reliability across Agoda’s global network.

A key component of the partnership is Checkout.com’s “Intelligent Acceptance” system, an AI-driven solution that uses real-time network data to optimise transactions.

The technology improves approval rates by intelligently routing payments and reducing failed or declined transactions.

The platform is further supported by Network Tokens and a Real-Time Account Updater, which help minimise false declines and improve efficiency in complex cross-border and multi-currency payment flows common in the travel sector.

The two companies also work together on large-scale supplier payment processing through virtual cards, allowing Agoda to maintain visibility and control across its issuing operations while ensuring consistent settlement to partners.

Pitichoke Chulapamornsri, Senior Director, Head of Fintech & Business Initiatives at Agoda, said: “Our mission is to make travel easy, accessible, and rewarding for everyone, and that requires payments infrastructure we can trust at global scale. We chose Checkout.com for its proven performance, resilience, and deep technical expertise. Their ability to improve acceptance rates gives us confidence as we continue to expand our platform and serve travellers around the world.”

Brian Sze, Head of APAC, Checkout.com, said, “Behind every booked trip is a digital moment that needs to work instantly and invisibly. As travel becomes increasingly digital, AI-driven optimisation and resilient payments systems are essential to connecting travellers, merchants, and partners worldwide. We’re proud to support Agoda with the technology that powers those connections.” -TradeArabia News Service
