Wego, a leading online travel marketplace in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena), has partnered with Spain’s national tourism office, Turespaña, to promote Spain as a top summer destination for travellers from the region.

The collaboration will showcase Spain’s diverse tourism offerings through targeted marketing campaigns and destination-focused storytelling, highlighting the country’s mix of culture, gastronomy, coastal attractions and lifestyle experiences.

The initiative aims to inspire Mena travellers seeking a combination of relaxation, cultural discovery and memorable holiday experiences.

The campaign will feature some of Spain’s most popular destinations, including Barcelona, known for its architecture and beachfront atmosphere; Madrid, celebrated for its museums, culinary scene and vibrant city life; and Seville, renowned for its traditions and flamenco heritage.

Coastal destinations such as Málaga and Valencia, along with island hotspots including Mallorca and Ibiza, will also be promoted.

In addition to major tourist centres, the partnership will spotlight Spain’s rich food culture, summer festivals, scenic coastal towns and lesser-known regions, encouraging visitors to explore authentic local traditions and Mediterranean experiences beyond the country’s most visited attractions.

The initiative comes as demand grows across the Mena region for destinations that combine high-quality tourism infrastructure with immersive travel experiences.

With strong international connectivity, a wide range of attractions and a welcoming environment, Spain is seeking to strengthen its appeal among regional travellers and capture a larger share of summer tourism from the Middle East and North Africa.

Mamoun Hmidan, Chief Business Officer at Wego, said: “Spain continues to be one of the most sought-after destinations for Mena travellers, offering an exceptional combination of culture, leisure, gastronomy, and natural beauty. Through our partnership with Turespaña, we aim to inspire travellers to explore the many dimensions of Spain and discover experiences that resonate with their individual travel interests, whether they are seeking vibrant city breaks, coastal escapes, culinary journeys, or cultural exploration.”

Carlos Ruiz González, Director of Spain’s Tourist Office (Turespaña) for the GCC, said: “Spain offers travellers an incredible diversity of experiences, from cultural landmarks and culinary traditions to beautiful coastlines and authentic local communities. Through our collaboration with Wego, we look forward to inspiring more travellers from the Middle East, in line with the claim of our latest marketing campaign “Think you know Spain? Think again” to discover the richness of Spain and experience firsthand what makes our destination so unique throughout the summer season.” -TradeArabia News Service
