Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced that it has welcomed an additional Airbus A320neo to its fleet, located at Bahrain International Airport.

The delivery is the 45th aircraft in Gulf Air’s fleet and represents continued momentum in the airline’s fleet expansion strategy, reflecting the airline's forward-going approach as it moves ahead with a modernized fleet aligned to its long-term growth objectives, said the flag-carrier in a statement.

Designed for efficiency and passenger comfort, the new aircraft features the widest single-aisle cabin on the market. It is also fitted with Sharklets, large wingtip devices that enhance aerodynamic performance, and delivers a 15% fuel burn reduction per seat, supporting improved operational economics across Gulf Air’s narrowbody operations.

In line with the industry’s focus on sustainability, the A320neo offers significant environmental advantages, with less CO2 emissions per year per aircraft and nearly a 50% reduction in noise footprint compared with previous-generation aircraft, said the statement.

More deliveries of the A320neo are expected during the year, as Gulf Air continues to expand capacity and strengthen its fleet capabilities to support future network plans, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
