Accor, a world-leading hospitality group, has announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with Mardi Holding, one of Georgia’s largest development companies, to open a Handwritten Collection hotel on the Black Sea coast in Batumi, Georgia in 2026.

Launched in January 2023, the Handwritten Collection brand represents a unique portfolio of exclusive hotels with an individual style. Handwritten Collection properties offer guests an intimate and stylish hospitality experience from local hoteliers, said a statement.

“We are proud to announce the signing of a Handwritten Collection property in Batumi – the first hotel under the exquisite Handwritten Collection brand in our region. It was created for travellers who value emotional travel experiences and the leading hospitality trends.

“In addition, the new brand is aimed to support independent and boutique hotel owners looking to boost their global profile, attract international audiences and grow their revenue without losing their identity.

“We are confident that hotel openings under the new international brands will help boost the dynamically developing tourism sector of Georgia and are delighted to provide the local community with a unique hotel that meets traditional local needs and the high standards of an international brand. I am grateful to our partner Mardi Holding for this excellent opportunity to implement another landmark project in Georgia’s main Black Sea resort,” says Alexis Delaroff, Chief Operating Officer of Accor New East Europe.

Handwritten in Batumi will occupy a new building on a territory of 80,000 sqm and offer 197 spacious and comfortable rooms, including suites. Its infrastructure will feature a modern fitness centre, a gastronomic restaurant and meeting facilities.

Located within a 20-minute drive from Batumi International Airport and a 10-minute drive from the Central Railway Station, the hotel's convenient location will allow guests to visit the main recreational and tourist areas of the city, including its vibrant centre and the famous Batumi Boulevard, spanning over 7 km along the Black Sea coast. The leisure area features numerous bars, shops and restaurants.

“In partnership with the esteemed hotel operator Accor, we are pleased to introduce a brand-new hotel experience in Batumi and Georgia. Unique and stylish residences alongside extraordinary hotel facilities are designed for our investors and guests. We truly believe that our project with a panoramic heated swimming pool will become one of the highlights of Batumi,” said Nugzar Berishvili, Managing Partner at Mardi Holding.

Batumi is the second largest city in Georgia and a big marine port located on the coast of the Black Sea. It’s a charming seaside town with spacious beaches, picturesque nature, a variety of traditional and international restaurants and trendy bars, as well as ancient and vibrant culture and various sights, which makes it perfect for family trips with children, friends, getaways and solo travel. – TradeArabia News Service
