flydubai adds two destinations in KSA

flydubai, the Dubai-based carrier, recently announced the launch of services to two destinations in Saudi Arabia. This includes the resumption of flights to Al Jouf and the start of operations to Red Sea International.

Flights to Al Jouf Airport (AJF) and Red Sea International Airport (RSI) started from April 18 and operate twice a week.

With this flydubai becomes the first carrier to operate to RSI from the UAE, offering passengers direct access to Saudi Arabia’s resorts at The Red Sea destination. At present, two luxury resorts are open at The Red Sea: Six Senses Southern Dunes and St. Regis Red Sea Resort. Three more resorts are on track to open this year. Upon full completion in 2030, The Red Sea will comprise 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland sites.

 

Kerten announces eco resort in Riyadh

Kerten Hospitality, in partnership with Rikaz and Rafal, and with the support of the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, will be launching a pioneering new urban eco resort in Riyadh. Named The House Urban Eco Resort Riyadh, the new project aims to redefine urban living in an environmentally friendly, sustainable, and luxurious environment.

The resort will offer guests a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, through various wellness experiences including modern spa treatments, therapeutic treatments, and lush green spaces. The new resort will feature both outdoor and indoor working spaces, along with integrated dining and event spaces that can host everything from intimate gatherings to the chance to pop behind the scenes with local chefs, all bound together under the theme of green living.

 

Jeddah airport tops performance stats

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah has secured the top spot in the February performance report by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in the category of Saudi airports with more than 15 million passengers annually.

The airport had a 91 per cent compliance rate and was followed by King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at 82 per cent.

Airports are assessed based on 11 operational performance standards, aligning with strategic objectives aimed at enhancing services and ensuring a seamless traveller experience at the kingdom’s airports, a Saudi Press Agency report said.

 

Hampton by Hilton announced in Jeddah

Azad Properties, PROPER Developments, and Hilton have officially signed on a transformative real estate collaboration to introduce a pioneering project within the vibrant Souq7 precinct in Jeddah.

The hospitality-oriented, mixed-use development within Souq7, developed by PROPER Developments, includes a Hampton by Hilton hotel, retail spaces, and offices.

Expected to open in 2026, Hampton by Hilton Souq7 will bring the brand’s thoughtful and friendly hospitality to guests staying in the mixed-use community. The 216-key hotel will feature a variety of guest rooms, a fully equipped fitness centre, and two meeting rooms to cater to business travellers, as well as value-added amenities such as a lobby lounge, contactless arrival, and a complimentary breakfast.

 

Qiddiya to house Dragon Ball theme park

Saudi-based Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has announced the launch of a Dragon Ball theme park, offering anime fans, families, and entertainment seekers an immersive journey into the iconic Dragon Ball universe.

Unveiling the details, the QIC Board of Directors, said nestled within Qiddiya City, just 40 minutes from Riyadh, this never-seen-before anime theme park is set to become a jaw-dropping spectacle, spanning more than half a million square metres, bringing to life the most iconic storylines, moments, and characters across all sagas.

Visitors can navigate 7 distinctively themed zones within the park, catapulting guests into the heart of the anime action to experience the historic journey from the first Dragon Ball series to the latest Dragon Ball Super, they stated.
