Saudia has officially launched its newest Alfursan lounge, a 3,500-sq-m facility with capacity to accommodate more than 10,000 guests per day, in the international terminal of Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport.

The lounge is the largest of its kind across the SkyTeam Alliance network worldwide, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The new facility was unveiled during a special ceremony on November 24 by Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics and Chairman of Saudia Group; Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group and Ryyan Tarabzoni, Chief Executive Officer of the Jeddah Airports Company.

Designed and equipped in line with world-class international standards and facilities, the new lounge offers a range of premium services to First and Business Class guests, Alfursan members, and Elite and Elite+ cardholders around the clock, seven days a week.

The lounge’s business centre includes meetings spaces, iPad devices, and printer facilities. The lounge also features a kid’s zone for children, together with a kitchen and several dining areas offering diverse and carefully curated menus.

Al-Omar emphasized that the new lounge gives the national flag carrier an edge thanks to its state-of-the-art equipment and finishing, as well as the carefully selected services that are designed to provide seamless comfort for Saudia’s guests.

“In this age of prosperity in the reign of the Kingdom’s visionary leadership, the country is seeing a flurry of global events and activities such as the Red Sea International Film Festival, the Formula One championship, among many others in Jeddah, welcoming millions of people to Saudi Arabia from all over the world,” he remarked.

The new lounge is the biggest frequent flyer lounge in the SkyTeam Alliance, the international alliance of 19 airlines of which Saudia is a member. It offers an ideal place for Guests to relax, tick off their business to-do lists, and wind down while they wait for their flights, with fun and entertaining activities for every age group.

The national carrier has been consistently recognized for its efforts to enhance its offerings through a series of prestigious industry accolades, most recently with the title “World's Most Improved Airline” at the 2021 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
