Yas island, the UAE’s premier entertainment destination, concluded its 2017 Eid Al Adha celebrations having welcomed thousands of local visitors and international tourists over the festive long weekend which took place between September 1 and 3.

Hotel occupancy rates reflected a surge in the number of visitors who stayed at the island this Eid Al Adha, in comparison to last year.

3,000 visitors flocked to Yas Marina on the first day of Eid enjoying a captivating spectacle on land and in the sky; the waterside promenade was peppered with fire and light performers as well as popular food trucks and interactive games, while live DJs spun fresh beats leading up to a dazzling fireworks show.

Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral, stated, “The influx of people coming to Yas Island over the Eid break demonstrates its popularity among people from the world over. We are delighted to see the island be people’s ‘go-to’ destination of choice when they celebrate milestone days – such as Eid Al Adha – or if they’re enjoying one of the events from our diverse event calendar.”

This year, in addition to the Emirati-inspired Eid activities and shows, the organisers collaborated with national initiatives that focus on storytelling for schoolchildren, including the UAE’s ‘New Fairytales & Fables’. During the Eid, Yas Mall was filled with tourists and residents who enjoyed both the ultimate non-stop entertainment, unique shopping and dining experiences.

Eid Al Adha also marked the final week of the highly successful Eid-to-Eid spend and win #SayYas campaign. UAE-resident and mother of two, Mrs. R. Jarrar, went home as the grand prize winner with an $272,000 in prize money, after experiencing a full day of bespoke VIP experiences across Yas Island.
