Kobrin opens Anantara Peace Haven
Tamir Kobrin has been appointed opening general manager of Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort in Sri Lanka. Kobrin is an alumnus of Les Roches Hotel Management School and has 20-plus years of luxury experience with Ritz-Carlton, Mandarin Oriental and Raffles, apart from a host of independent properties.
Tsolakou heads Khalidiya PalaceEleni Tsolakou joins Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana as its new general manager after heading Centro Barsha by Rotana, Dubai as GM. She comes with 15 years of hospitality experience in Africa, Greece, Indonesia and the Middle East, having studied hospitality management at the Sheffield Hallam University in the UK.
Travelport expands key roles Rabih Saab (pictured here), leader for Africa, Middle East and South Asia, expands his responsibilities at Travelport to include Europe. Marcin Pilarski now heads up product and marketing on a global basis, Damiano Sabatino now leads Southern Europe and North Africa, and Simon Ferguson leads Northern Europe.
New GM for Radisson Blu Jizan Radisson Blu Resort, Jizan in Saudi Arabia has appointed Najib Ghosheh as the general manager for the destination’s newest resort overlooking the Red Sea. A Spanish citizen with Jordanian origins, Ghosheh has over 20 years of experience in the industry with InterContinental Hotels Group and Riu Hotels & Resorts.
Hotel manager for Yanbu property The 167-key Radisson Blu Hotel, Yanbu has appointed Abdelsalam Al Tamimi as hotel manager. A Jordanian national, Al Tamimi started his career in customer service prior to joining the Radisson Hotels & Resorts Group in 1998. His last position was operations manager at Park Inn by Radisson Al Khobar.
H Dubai makes key appointment The H Dubai appoints Kevork Deldelian, a hospitality veteran with more than 30 years of experience, as the new general manager and regional director. His most recent position was of area general manager for Qatar Airways Group Hotels. He has also worked with Rotana and InterContinental Hotels Group.
Hagerty joins Dollar Rent A Car Dominic Hagerty brings nine years of automotive and car rental industry experience to head sales and marketing for Dollar Rent A Car in the UAE. He will be planning marketing and sales plans and the annual budget, along with managing retail rental, corporate rental and leasing divisions.
Deschu joins Millennium Corniche German national Chef Raul Deschu is the new executive chef at the Abu Dhabi-based Millennium Corniche Hotel after his most recent appointment in Al Ain. He brings with him experience from Indonesia, Thailand, Germany and Austria. His speciality is Mediterranean and his recipes are flavourful and fresh.
JA announces GM restructure Otto Kurzendorfer (pictured here), general manager at JA Ocean View Hotel since 2013, is now leading the JA Jebel Ali Golf Resort team as GM. Torsten Obermann has been promoted to area general manager of JA Ocean View Hotel & The Walk, and Yasser Mansour is the new GM at JA Oasis Beach Tower.
Huth leads Sharm El Sheikh hotels Thomas Huth joins as general manager overseeing both the Park Inn by Radisson and Radisson Blu Resort, Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. Huth, a German national, began his career as commis de cuisine and worked his way up to being a general manager Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts Hurghada in Egypt in 2006.
Kempinski MOE makes sales hires Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates has hired Mirza Usman, Andreea Popa and Deborah Gray (pictured here), as assistant directors of sales (Ados), to work on client relationships and day-to-day account management. Usman is Ados – Corporate, Popa is Ados – Groups and Events, and Gray joins as Ados – Leisure.

Thakur has more than 12 years of hospitality experience, having held managerial positions in Flora Park, Flora Creek Hotel Apartments and Rotana Hotels. He has also worked with Hotels Arabia as agents’ relation manager – UAE.
STR Global hires managing directorRobin Rossmann has been appointed managing director of STR Global. He will replace Elizabeth Randall-Winkle, who is now chief strategy officer at STR, Inc. based in the US. Rossmann joins STR Global from Deloitte London, where he was a senior director in the international travel, hospitality & leisure advisory group.
Tannous heads Capital Centre Arjaan Capital Centre Arjaan by Rotana has announced the appointment of Enad Tannous as general manager. Prior to this new role, he was general manager at Amwaj Rotana- Jumeirah Beach Residence Dubai, and held other managerial appointments in Jordan, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
Anantara Thailand appoints new GMs Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas has appointed two new general managers at two of its resorts in Thailand. Giles Selves (pictured here) has been appointed to lead the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Resort team, while Lutz Mueller is the general manager for Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort.
