More fun for the families at the soon-to-open<br> Yas Waterworld

THE Yas Waterworld, the newest entertainment feature on Yas Island is scheduled to open doors  in the fourth quarter of 2012, will have 43 rides, slides and other attractions, is likely to rival the best water parks in the world.

Mike Oswald, park manager says, “Guests can expect to find a park packed with exciting and new experiences. We have four one-of-a-kind rides/attractions which we are looking forward to unveiling to the public; a roller coaster which intertwines through other attractions, an incredible 20 m tall Tornado raft ride, a fun and interactive pearl diving attraction and the first Aqua Loop slide in the region.”

Two other key highlights are the Bandit Bomber Roller Coaster and Hairat Yas and the interactive Pearl Diving attraction. The Bandit Bomber is the Jabha Zone – literally translated as ‘the front line’ will host the battle between water cannons on the ground and guests riding on the Roller Coaster. Hairat Yas brings the legend and theme of the park to life. An actual pearl diving attraction, the parks very own Pearlmasters will dive down and retrieve oysters for our guests.

“The park also pays tribute to Emirati culture and the country’s pearl diving heritage and is intricately themed to bring our ‘legend’ to life. The design and flow of the park are truly immersive, following the journey of our heroine Dana as she seeks the lost pearl. In addition we have an authentically themed souk area which houses local products,” added Oswald.

Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi will be the first major waterpark built in the capital and a great addition to what is fast becoming the new entertainment hub of the UAE. It is already home to some of the region’s most exciting attractions – Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Links and Flash Arena. Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi adds a great dimension and continues to build Yas Island as a weekend or short-stay destination for families.

“Residents of the UAE are constantly looking for new and fun things to do during their spare time and will be the first time and regular visitors to the park.

Our primary objective is to ensure that all our guests have an exciting adventure when they visit – and they leaving wanting to come back again and again,” he said.

The Yas Waterworld is also working with the seven hotels and expects to see a steady influx of visitors primarily from Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
