Bernabé gets key operations role

Avani Hotels & Resorts has appointed Alejandro Bernabé as vice president of operations. Bernabé joined Avani as group director in January this year. He reports directly to Robert Kunkler, chief operating officer of Minor Hotels and is based at Minor Hotels regional office in Bangkok.  


Collot joins Banyan Tree Seychelles

Banyan Tree Seychelles has appointed Fabrice Collot as general manager of the resort. Collot joined the Banyan Tree group in 2007, and served as executive assistant manager at Banyan Tree Al Areen Spa and Resort in Bahrain. He was promoted to hotel manager one year before moving to Morocco.


Langham promotes Manning

In tandem with its steady growth and expansion plans, Langham Hospitality Group is strengthening its sales and marketing division with the promotion of Simon Manning to senior vice president, chief sales and marketing officer. Manning has more than 25 years of related hospitality experience.


Al Ain Rotana appoints Gundlach

Uwe Gundlach joins as the cluster director of revenue for both Al Ain Rotana and Hili Rayhaan by Rotana. He is an experienced revenue leader with 15 years of experience in revenue management. Before this, he was a cluster director of revenue for Yas Island Rotana and Centro
Yas Island.


Safa gets promoted

Grand Hyatt Dubai has promoted Malek Safa as executive assistant manager (EAM) sales and marketing to be in charge of the entire sales, events, revenue and marketing departments of the hotel along with other general operations and report directly to general manager, Fathi Khogaly.


Calder to head Hurawalhi Maldives

Hurawalhi Maldives has appointed New Zealand national Brad Calder as general manager. A detailed, result-driven and perceptive professional with experience in luxury resort management, product innovation and development, Calder will also oversee the Kudadoo Maldives Private Island by Hurawalhi, to open in 2018.


Hilton Abu Dhabi appointment

Hans Schiller has been appointed as the cluster general manager of Hilton Abu Dhabi and Hilton Al Ain. The hospitality veteran brings with him 25 years of work experience in the industry. Schiller kicked off his hospitality career in the hotel industry in 1989 from Dr Speiser Hotel Management School.


Leone joins Jumeirah Messilah

Jumeirah Messilah Beach Resort & Spa, Kuwait’s idyllic resort, has appointed French national Savino Leone, as general manager. Leone joins the Jumeirah Group from InterContinental Osaka, in Japan, and Crowne Plaza Doha – The Business Park, Qatar, where he also served as GM.
