Seema Pande joins Kempinski MOE

Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates has appointed Seema Pande as commercial director to oversee its sales, marketing and revenue departments. Pande has operated in various sales and marketing roles in Dubai for 20 years, for Emaar, Starwood and Fairmont. She has played a key role in positioning some leading hotels.

 

Blaiklock joins Centrara in key role

Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand’s leading hotel operator, has appointed Markland Blaiklock as deputy chief executive officer, responsible for steering the company’s expansion, to double both its revenues and properties over the next five years. Blaiklock served as Centara’s chief operating officer in 2015. 

 

Symphony Style welcomes Hanna

Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait, the Quorvus Collection flagship hotel in Kuwait, has welcomed Maged Hanna to the position of sales and marketing director. He has more than 16 years’ experience in driving sales and operations across the GCC. He was most recently director of sales and operations at Holiday Inn Kuwait.

 

GHA hires head of loyalty marketing

Mövenpick appoints Abaid

Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate Dubai has appointed Lebanese national Samer Abiad to the role of food and beverage director. Abiad has worked in five-star hotels in the UAE and across the wider GCC, including La Vendome InterContinental Hotel, Beirut; Beach Rotana Hotel, Abu Dhabi; and others.

 

Lababedi joins Mövenpick

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has appointed experienced hotel development professional Amir Lababedi to spearhead its expansion strategy in Europe and North Africa, two core markets where the company has ambitious growth plans. He joins as vice-president development Europe & North Africa.

 

Mandarin Oriental makes three senior appointments

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced three senior management appointments. Christoph Mares has been promoted to chief operating officer and will be responsible for global hotel operations as well as overseeing the operational functions of Food and beverage, rooms and quality. Richard Baker, currently executive vice-president, operations director – Asia, has been appointed group chief relationship officer. Paul Massot has been appointed group development director, responsible for driving the company’s global development strategy.
