AccorHotels has promoted Veronique Augier Nel as director of communications and CSR Asia Pacific. Veronique will manage the communications and corporate social responsibility functions for AccorHotels’ 980+ Asia Pacific properties. She has been with AccorHotels Asia Pacific for seven years.
Chef Sinju Varghese has been appointed as the new executive chef of Al Raha Beach Hotel, a five-star beachfront resort in Abu Dhabi. He is responsible for overseeing all the culinary activities at various dining outlets in the hotel. Chef Varghese was declared the Chef of the Year in 2014.
DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah has appointed Satya Singh as the new sous chef. He will work closely with the executive chef to create Asian-inspired culinary masterpieces at Sanchaya. Prior to this, Chef Satya was with the Hilton Salalah Resort for five years.
Eugene Conradie has been appointed as the new food and beverage manager at Hilton Abu Dhabi to oversee all food and beverage operations across the five-star property from planning and controlling orders to managing finances and purchases. He has been with Hilton for more than three years.

Francesco Pompilio has been appointed the new rooms division manager of The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery, Middle East’s first holistic wellbeing resort. Most recently, he was the acting executive assistant manager at dusitD2 Kenz hotel in Dubai. Pompilio has 16 years of hospitality experience.
Amin Alsaden has been appointed the director of the Sharjah Architecture Triennial, the first platform dedicated to architecture and urbanism in the wider region. She started her career with travel agencies before moving to Bahrain flag carrier Gulf Air.
