Al Maha Arjaan by Rotana has appointed Nadim El Zyr as general manager of the hotel. Born and raised in a family of hoteliers, he boasts a career of more than 15 years in the hospitality industry. El Zyr will spearhead the team at the hotel, which is currently completing its final phase of renovation.

Sherif Madkour joins the team at Media Rotana from Al Maha Arjaan Abu Dhabi, where he held the role of general manager for the last four years. Madkour is a seasoned hospitality management professional with a 20-year track record. An Egyptian national, he started his career with hotels in Germany and the UK.
Ahmad Shaban Fernandez has joined as the area director of sales and marketing, Middle East and Africa, at Meliá Hotels International. Before this, the Spanish-Jordanien national used the head up the sales operative for Rotana Hotel’s regional portfolio. Fernandez will now work on promoting Melia in the region.
Hospitality Management Holding has appointed Aboudi Asali as its chief executive officer (CEO). Asali joins HMH with more than 20 years of hospitality experience, starting at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston. His last position was that of senior vice-president development at Jumeirah Group.
IHG has hired Rajit Sukumaran as chief development officer in the Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region. In his new role, Sukumaran will head the development team and lead the group’s growth strategy. He was senior vice-president, Acquisitions & Development, Asia Pacific at Starwood.
