IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world's leading hotel companies, has announced the arrival of new properties in Guadalajara, Mexico from two of its brands – Candlewood Suites and avid hotels.

The first, Candlewood Suites Guadalajara Galerías, is located on Avenida Manuel J. Clouthier, east of the city and near Plaza Galerías. It is part of the Plaza Grüncom Clouthier mixed-use development, and includes 118 fully equipped suites, pool, gym, laundry, and a terrace furnished with everything needed for the rest and delight of guests. All suites provide a full kitchen with appliances and utensils, and separate spaces for rest and work.

Candlewood Suites is part of IHG’s Suites collection, with extended stay being one of the fastest growing and best performing segments in the industry. This is the brand’s third property in Mexico with two open hotels in Queretaro and Guanajuato, and two more in the pipeline within the next three years. The brand offers a welcoming hotel experience blended with apartment-style amenities, making it easier for guests to settle in when traveling for long periods and maintain their personal routines while away from home.

Candlewood Suites Guadalajara Galerías is owned by Roomie Hotel Ownership and operated by Operadora Internacional Monbyhotels, while IHG Hotels & Resorts is the franchise holder.

The second property is the avid hotel Guadalajara Av. Vallarta Poniente, which marks the debut of one of IHG's fastest-growing brands in this city. The avid hotels brand was designed to provide “the essentials done exceptionally well” at a fair price, an appealing offer for both travellers and owners that has fuelled the brand’s North American growth. Two additional avid hotels are open in Tijuana and Fresnillo, and more than 10 other properties are in development across Mexico.

avid hotel Guadalajara is owned by Grupo Ferran and located within Plaza Epicentra, a commercial complex on Avenida Vallarta and Periférico Norte, west of the metropolitan area and near several industrial parks. This new property is also the closest hotel to Akron Stadium and a 45-minute drive to the charming town of Tequila, one of Jalisco’s iconic destinations.

Half of its 124 rooms have a wonderful view of the Spring Forest, a beautiful slice of nature 25 minutes from downtown Guadalajara. Public areas of the hotel include a fitness centre, spaces for breakfast, relaxation and co-working, a small market for essential items, and underground parking.

The hotel offers travellers a room that’s “just right”: comfortable, modern, and clean, designed for a restful night, as well as complimentary high-quality, grab-and-go breakfast, including a hot option, a select number of high-quality takeaways, and freshly brewed coffee.

Jorge Apaez, Chief Operating Officer for Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean at IHG, said: “Debuting two brands in such a popular destination like Guadalajara is undoubtedly an occasion to celebrate. These new openings are a testament to the diversity of IHG’s portfolio, which empowers each guest to choose the ideal hotel for their stay. They also speak to the trust that IHG brands and our business model inspire in our franchisees and business partners. Both properties are positioned to become guest favourites in their respective segments.”

With these openings, IHG is adding 242 rooms to its system size in Guadalajara, the capital of the state of Jalisco in southwest Mexico, well known for its rich cultural patrimony, but also as a rising hub for innovation and technology. – TradeArabia News Service
