Chefs table at the Sheraton Bahrain
Sheraton Bahrain’s executive chef Dennis Gourrand and African & Eastern general manager Peter O’Brien hosted the fourth ‘chef’s table’ for this year.
Joined by their management team, they invited top business clients to an innovative lunch in the main kitchens of the hotel. Guests included Richard Fossett, Peter Hayden, Christian Kluhnavsky, Sahar Muller and Henry Uster.
Medals galore of InterCon Dubai chef
El Erabi (middle) and other chefs from InterCon Dubai celebrating their success at DSS culinary competitions together with Uwe Micheel, regional executive chef, Tom Meyer, general manager, Scott Murray, F&B director. Al Erabi was the only woman to bag the DSS ‘Chefs of the Year’ award while, among others, the hotel’sr chefs broke the Guinness Book of Records for the largest display of rice dumplings with a whopping 23,094 pieces. Overall InterCon Dubai chefs entered 22 categories and won 15 medals, which is no doubt an outstanding achievement.
Abu Dhabi chefs strike gold
Junior chefs from Al Raha Beach Resort won gold at the recent Emirates Culinary Guild’s Junior Chef competition at DSS. Chef Gede Mantra, commis, took home a gold medal while Chef Mandif Warokka, demi chef de partie, was awarded gold and silver medals, plus a trophy during the competition. Kasseb bags President’s Award at Sheraton Doha
Sheraton Doha’s guest service manager Sherif Kasseb was presented with the President’s Award for his accomplishments and outstanding contribution to the success of the company. The prestigious award was handed over to Kasseb by Hamad Al Mansour, director of human resources, and Gerhard Foltin, GM of the Sheraton Doha Hotel & Resort.
Mövenpick’s limelight event a huge success
Mövenpick Hotel & Resorts (MH&R) staged their annual limelight event to thank contributors to the Swiss chain's success in Egypt. Andreas Mattmüller, senior vice-president, MH&R, and Hubert Klemenz, regional director of operations Egypt and HR director, Middle East, welcomed the guests to the Mövenpick Hotel Cairo-Heliopolis.
