Hotels in Dubai are continuing to report occupancy rates of between 70 and 100 per cent, local media reported.

The steady rise in occupancy has been attributed to the success of Dubai Summer Surprises, the report said.

Many of the hotels took part in the Dubai Fun for Free promotion offering accommodation at rates ranging from Dh100 ($27.22) to Dh450 per night.

Under the package, hotels and hotel apartments offered an extra night's free stay on a three-night package in a hotel, or on a six-night package in a hotel apartment, the report said.

The Metropolitan Group of Hotels, which has four properties in Dubai, said it recorded occupancy of between 70 and 95 per cent, with the Metropolitan Beach Resort recording the highest occupancy.

While the bulk of the clientele comprises GCC visitors, the hotel also attracts visitors from the Indian subcontinent, Middle Eastern countries, Africa and Western Europe, the report said.

The Airport Hotel, comprising 116 rooms and 72 chalets, said it experienced very high occupancy of about 90 per cent since the start of Summer Surprises.

Golden Sands Hotel Apartments, which offers 700 furnished apartments, reported occupancy of over 85 per cent.
