The Middle East and North Africa Leisure & Attractions Council (MENALAC) experienced a membership growth spurt of 168 per cent in Q1 this year, with 18 new members coming on board in the first half of 2021.

Bringing all MENA Leisure and Attractions industry stakeholders together, MENALAC is a valuable platform for member engagement, professional training, and knowledge sharing.

Pivoting to the new normal

Rosa Tahmaseb, Secretary General at MENALAC, said: “Leaning into the new normal, MENALAC has pivoted to virtual conferences and webinars in the absence of travel, exhibitions, and in-person networking events. Keeping value and quality at the fore, the Council ensures our membership benefits remain unhindered."

In addition to virtual networking events and conferences, members enjoy access to a wider global Leisure & Attraction industry, participation in MENALAC’s industry-leading Awards Gala (the Oscars of the MENA leisure industry), visibility and volunteering opportunities with various committees, and exclusive introductions to all members.

MENALAC also serves as a guide to its members, helping them align with government regulations and establish themselves in the regional leisure industry.

Creating a pioneering industry report

With its eyes set on the future, the agile MENALAC team is on a tireless mission to forge innovative ways to further enrich the benefits its members receive. This has led to its most recent membership benefit - the MENA Leisure Report (MLR), the first of its kind.

Harnessing the power of data, the MLR is a treasure trove of insights about each country in the MENA region, budding projects, and opportunities for potential investors in the region.

Commenting on the MLR, Cameron Mitchell, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas and Majid Al Futtaim Leisure & Entertainment, said: “The MENA Leisure Report is a first-of-its kind publication covering multiple facets of the region’s dynamic leisure and entertainment industry, which is shaping the global landscape. Featuring in-depth research, valuable insights and contributions from key players and thought leaders, it will provide a wealth of relevant information for a spectrum of stakeholders."

He continued: “Leisure and entertainment activities enhance and enrich the lives of families and the global pandemic has highlighted the importance of reimagining the industry in order to survive and thrive. The MENA Leisure Report is an important source of quantified data which can be leveraged by businesses to make informed decisions and capitalise on growth opportunities to ensure the continued success of the industry."

Treating happiness as a KPI

A timeless pursuit, seeking happiness is being prioritised more than ever in the MENA region. MENALAC’s goal is to help its members bring their audience greater joy, and in the long term, play a role in further raising the happiness index in the MENA region.

MENALAC looks forward to taking its growing community to greater heights and continuing to offer incredible value to its valued members. - TradeArabia News Service
