Aman partners with AlUla for three sites

AMAN is debuting in of Saudi Arabia in 2023 by developing three distinct resorts in North West Saudi Arabia, in AlUla, one of the world’s greatest undiscovered wonders, in partnership with the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU).

The partnership agreement was signed by Saudi Arabia’s minister of culture, the governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla, His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammad bin Farhan Al Saud, and chairman and CEO of Aman, Vladislav Doronin.

This development will include a tented camp, at one with nature; a sublime resort close to AlUla’s spectacular heritage areas; and a third development as Aman’s take on a ranch-style desert resort nestled in an otherworldly setting.

All three projects represent an authentic move for the brand and they will embrace eco-tourism standards in line with RCU’s commitment to sensitive development.


Marriott introduces Luxury Collection

MARRIOTT International has signed an agreement with Assila Investments to bring its Luxury Collection brand for the first time to Saudi Arabia. Situated in the heart of Jeddah, Assila Hotel is anticipated to join The Luxury Collection’s portfolio of more than 100 world-renowned hotels and resorts next year.

The hotel is situated on Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz (Tahlia) Street, on the main commercial and retail strip of the city and within close proximity to the Corniche and many of the city’s landmarks.

“We are thrilled to have Marriott International manage the beautiful Assila Hotel, under the Luxury Collection brand,” said Bader Alissa, CEO, Assila Investments. “This only affirms Assila Hotel’s position as a premier luxury hotel in Jeddah.”

“We are delighted to announce plans for the first Luxury Collection property in Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with Assila Investments,” said Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International.  “This deal signing supports our plans to further diversify our footprint in the kingdom while enhancing our overall luxury portfolio in the region.” 


Saudia welcomes first 787-10 Dreamliner

NATIONAL carrier Saudi Arabian Airlines recently welcomed its first 787-10 Dreamliner at a special ceremony held at the new Terminal 1 of Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport.

The largest member of the Dreamliner family sets the benchmark for fuel efficiency and operating economics and will complement Saudia’s existing fleet of 13 Boeing 787-9s.

“Saudia operates a state-of-the-art fleet equipped with the latest technology, and in addition to the airline’s existing Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, is now adding the 787-10 variant which will further support future network growth plans,” said Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, director general Saudi Arabian Airlines.

“The airplane’s onboard cabin features, long-range capability and the latest in technological advancements are among the many aspects of what makes the Boeing 787 highly popular with our guests.”

The layout of the Saudia Boeing 787-10 will be 357 seats in a two-class configuration, with 24 seats in Business Class and 333 seats in Guest Class (Economy).


Kempinski Hotel to open in Makkah

KEMPINSKI Hotels has announced a new luxury project in Makkah, Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the partnering company, Umm Al Qura for Development and Construction Company (UAQ). The property will entail a luxury hotel within the new boulevard on King Abdul Aziz Road mega project.

When it opens in 2023, Kempinski Hotel Makkah will include 380 rooms and suites, each of them offering at least 42 sq m – unprecedented in the segment in this region. An all-day dining restaurant and a speciality restaurant with its Levantine cuisine or indulging in the coffee lounge at the sky lobby will offer guests exclusive culinary experiences. An impressive ballroom and spacious conference rooms will address the needs the most discerning clients may have.

The deluxe hotel will be located in the prime area of the boulevard covering the closest point to the Holy Haram mosque.
