Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has announced the relaunch of its services by Miami Air International from the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.

A charter airline based in Florida, US, Miami Air International landed its debut flight on July 31 at King Abdulaziz International Airport carrying American pilgrims on board. This was the first direct flight of Miami Air International to the kingdom after the carrier stopped its services in 1997.

The American charter airline took off from Terminal One carrying 163 American passengers after their Hajj pilgrimage.

King Abdulaziz International Airport General Manager Issam Noor said the GACA was keen to provide all possible facilities for the arrival and departure of the US flight.

This will contribute to stimulate the rest of the US carriers to operate flights between the two friendly countries, stated Noor.

The completion of all necessary procedures for the arrival and departure of the flight confirms the readiness of King Abdulaziz International Airport to receive flights from all over the world, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
