BAC reviews new passenger terminal building's security

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) said it held a strategic meeting with Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) the country’s aviation regulator to review aviation security plans for Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) new passenger terminal building.

During the meeting, the duo discussed new terminal access control strategy, airport security zones, including enhanced process for security passes, key management system, and the new airport security pass format.

In attendance were senior BAC officials led by Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah and top executives from CAA.

Al Binfalah said as the kingdom's aviation regulator CAA plays an important role in maintaining the high security standards at airport through its oversight responsibilities, "and its support is even more vital as we prepare to transition operations to the new passenger terminal building."

"The meeting provided an excellent platform to explore in detail key aspects of the new facility’s security infrastructure and systems, which are designed to ensure a secure and efficient airport experience for passengers and staff alike," he added.

The BAC chief pointed out that the entire aviation value chain had a role to play in keeping the industry safe.

"Close collaboration with government authorities and Bahrain CAA is essential to ensure the security systems and procedures implemented at the new terminal are in line with international standards and local regulations," he noted.

"With the continued support of our partners, we look forward to achieving the Airport Modernisation Programme’s objectives and increasing the aviation sector’s contribution to the national economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
