Marriott International debuts in Mali

MARRIOTT International has announced the opening of the 200-key Sheraton Bamako Hotel, marking its entry into Mali, in West Africa. The hotel, which is strategically located near Bamako’s Modibo Keïta International Airport, is in collaboration with Koiraholding Group, promoter of the project.

All 200 spacious and well-appointed guestrooms boast panoramic views of the Niger river and the lush green hillside dotted with mango plantations, offering unmatched comfort and the Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience. 27 Sheraton Club rooms and 32 suites offer exclusive access to the Sheraton Club Lounge, a private space where guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast, drinks and snacks during the day. Leisure facilities include a Sheraton Fitness Centre, a spa and an outdoor pool.

Four distinctive dining venues offer a wide selection of global cuisine.

 

Sun Aqua eyes Arabian market

SUN AQUA is launching the third property in their portfolio, while also opening a new sales office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Sun Aqua Iru Veli is an exclusive resort on the island of Aluvifushi, a private island d for guests only in the heart of the South Nilandhe Atoll in the Maldives. The resort is scheduled to open in October this year.

Iru Veli is a five-star premium all-inclusive resort of 125 villas and suites, all with private pools. Across the lagoon and along the beach, a variety of over-water and beach front villas offers total seclusion in open spaces. All villas, whether couples’ suites or extended family villas, feature vistas across the Indian Ocean in true Maldivian style.

Sun Aqua Iru Veli is a quick 40-minute seaplane ride from Malè and the international airport. Features include an infinity pool, a fully equipped recreation centre, a variety of activities and water sports such as jet ski, wind surfing, fun rides, catamaran sailing etc.

Sun Aqua Spa, with its six treatment pavilions and hydrotherapy area, is perched over the lagoon as an over-water spa offering a range of treatments combining western and eastern philosophies.

 

New Mandarin Oriental in Ho Chi Minh City

MANDARIN Oriental Hotel Group will manage a new hotel in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, scheduled to open in 2020.

The property, which will be called Mandarin Oriental, Saigon, will form part of Union Square Saigon, a commercial building in the heart of the city, that is currently under renovation. The hotel will be situated on the upper floors of this mixed-use complex, which will also house a variety of international luxury retail outlets. The project owner is Union Square Company Limited.

Mandarin Oriental, Saigon will comprise 227 guestrooms and suites, six restaurants and bars, a range of meeting and banqueting spaces, a fitness centre, a Spa at Mandarin Oriental and an outdoor swimming pool.

Mandarin Oriental, Saigon is adjacent to the Saigon Opera House and the People’s Committee Building and within walking distance of most of the key landmarks in the city. Its position is ideal for guests wishing to enjoy the city’s vibrant dining and shopping areas.

 

Swiss-Belhotel International aims high

SWISS-BELHOTEL INTERNATIONAL targets 30 hotels across Middle East & Africa by 2021. The group has chalked out an aggressive expansion strategy with 17 per cent of its global portfolio of hotels comprising 3,500 rooms centred in the Mena region.

“Our goal is to have 20 hotels in operation and 10 under construction by 2021. Out of these, five projects would be in Africa while the remaining will be in gateway cities across the Middle East with a significant presence in the GCC.
