Hilton Lake Como opens
A FAVOURITE retreat of Hollywood stars and those in the know, Lake Como welcomed the largest hotel in the area, Hilton Lake Como, last month. Ideally located in the residential heart of the city, between central Como and the Swiss border, the hotel is steps away from a haven of romantic villas and luscious gardens including the promenade along Lake Como.
As the largest hotel in Lake Como with 170 guest rooms including 21 suites, three of which offer lake view private terraces complete with private whirlpools and sunbeds.

Hotel de Ville Beirut rebrands to Oaks
SCHEDULED to launch in mid 2018, the 110-key hotel Oaks Beirut by Minor Hotels is located in Sodeco, a commercial area of Beirut, approximately five minutes’ drive from the vibrant central downtown area and 15 minutes from Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport. Previously operating as Hotel de Ville Beirut, the hotel is currently closed for a full refurbishment and will relaunch as Oaks.
Bringing Oaks’ smart simplicity to a new destination, the property will provide modern accommodation with a selection of guest rooms and suites, with facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, a lounge bar and café, a rooftop pool and bar, plus dedicated conference facilities.
Ajman Hotel starts operation
HOSPITALITY veterans Reto Wittwer and Ulrich Eckhardt announced the successful management takeover of the Ajman Hotel, formerly the Kempinski Hotel Ajman. The hotel now carries the Blazon Hotels brand and premium service philosophy, as part of their newly established hotel management company Smart Hospitality Solutions (SHS). Under the brand and management, Ajman Hotel, has already started business since the first day of the year.
Under the Blazon flag, Ajman Hotel will unveil enhanced culinary offerings at its ten restaurants and cafes, as well as upgrades to its 168 guest rooms, 14 suites and event spaces during the next 12 months.
Radisson Blu in Costa Rica
CARLSON Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world's largest and most dynamic hotel groups, has announced the signing of a new Radisson Blu in Costa Rica. The new-build hotel will offer 100 rooms and is expected to break ground late 2018 with plans to open in December 2020.
Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Papagayo, Costa Rica will be located in Guanacaste, which is a province in northwestern Costa Rica bordering the Gulf of Papagayo. This area is known for its breathtaking beaches and the beautiful Santa Rosa National Park.
Two new Ramada hotels to open in Oman
WYNDHAM Hotel Group has partnered with Omani business house Al Khaleel Group to launch two new hotels in the sultanate under the Ramada brand name, said a report.
Ramada Encore, a three-star hotel offering 140 deluxe rooms and 24 suites, will be located along Sultan Qaboos main road in Al Ghubrah, a short distance from Muscat International Airport. The second project is a four-star Ramada Hotel and Suites, located next to the Ramada Encore and inter-connected by a footbridge. Ramada Hotel & Suites Muscat will offer contemporary accommodation across 90 suites and share leisure facilities with those at the Ramada Encore.
