When it comes to a destination that throws up a variety of marine and onshore adventure activities, it is impossible to not have Maldives on the list. Seasoned adventurers will endorse that this island getaway, a short four-hour flight away from the GCC, makes for the ideal long weekend escape. Think luxury, stunning white-sand coastlines and an amazing underwater world make the Maldives an obvious choice for a relaxing beach getaway.

Maldives is made up of thousands of coral islands and is known for its beautiful beaches and extensive reefs. As the third resort to open in the Maldives, Baros Maldives is a true reflection of authentic Maldivian hospitality. The property remains one of the easiest to reach from Male only a 25-minute speedboat ride away to pristine white beaches. In 2005, the resort was transformed into the luxurious escape that it is today whilst preserving the island’s natural beauty and rich underwater life.

There are many unique experiences that one can explore including Naming your own Manta Ray, black coral reef exploration, marine life discovery through scuba diving and deep-sea diving, deep sea fishing, Malé Island excursion or even an exclusive private cinema screening on a sandbank in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

Baros Maldives is offering guests and enthusiastic divers the opportunity to adopt and name a Manta Ray by participating in a survey being conducted by Divers Baros Maldives, the resort’s PADI five-star Gold Palm Dive Centre. Baros Maldives is known for its beautiful house reef and the stunning dive sites within its proximity. In an effort to sustain the rich underwater life, the centre is constantly conducting studies and surveys, including this latest survey to identify the many Manta Rays that can be seen at the various dive sites close to the island. This has resulted in the identifying of new Manta Rays which have been entered into the first scientific database for Manta Rays maintained by the international Manta Matcher Organisation.

Guests can follow an experienced snorkelling guide into the secret underwater world at the "Black Coral" reef. Known to be a coveted snorkelling site, your personal Baros Maldives' snorkelling guide takes adventure seekers around the reef wall, which is also home to a stunning variety of coloured marine life. End the three-hour experience with a delicious picnic served on the Dhoni itself. An underwater camera is a must-have on this tour!

Experience the thrill and excitement of Big Game Fishing in the deep, blue waters for fast, ocean going fish such as Sailfish, Tuna, Marlin, and Wahoo.

A country of nearly 1,200 tropical islands set in translucent lagoons in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives is renowned for some of the world’s most spectacular underwater diving experiences.

Picture a clear evening and enjoy an exclusive private cinema screening on a sandbank in the middle of the Indian Ocean, while sipping on some bubbly and nibbling on popcorn.
