One of the strongest trends we are noticing in the UAE is the increase in room demand via mobile. More and more travellers are using their mobile phones for either the entire or part of the booking process. We’ve seen a 35 per cent increase in mobile demand year-on-year for Dubai in Q3 and expect that to keep rising. Package bookings are also seeing an increase in demand, which is an important source of incremental demand for hoteliers; global research has shown us that package customers typically have twice the length of stay, twice the booking window and half the cancellation rate of a standalone hotel-only booking. Overall, international demand into Dubai is strong and set to grow which is great news for all our hotel and industry partners.
